…by some crazy person named that i need to update because people actually read this journal. I find that a funny sentiment as I have a number of journals and this is the only one that “everyone” reads. Even on myspace very few people read anything but bulletins. SO …with no further ado here is my update:
My grandmother will have been buried a week ago tomorrow, two weeks since her death. It is setting in now that I will not see her until the last day. I am praying that the last day is NOW because I really miss her. I miss saying to my mother “so how’s grandmom? hanging in there?” … I miss taking time to go and see her, even if it was few and far between. I miss the talks and walks we took most of my life… her laugh and ornery smile. Her faith. Her joy. I miss the days when we would be at my house and me on the top bunk, her on the bottom, and we would hold hands till we fell asleep. I miss being in her room and smelling her Charlie perfume wafting through the air. I remember how she would make tea and have a cup every day while reading her bible or doing her search-a-words. How
she always watched her stories every weekday without fail. The conversations about life and love and death and home. Her undaunting spirit…no matter what pains or how many pills she had to take. The funny sounds she used to make while going about her daily duties…whistling and humming and grunting a laugh at long past comedy. The sneaking of money to me so we could go together in her green Nova and get penny candy at the local general store. The picnics, the parties, the boiled water baths. Her indignation toward evil and wrongdoing. Such a super hero…my super hero.
