It’s only just begun..

O man. I had to traverse the countryside to get all the things that we ended up needing for our festivities tomorrow. I am beat. I have just gotten my second wind, of sorts, and soon I will chop the onions and smoosh the garlic.

This is getting to be a bit much…
For starters, I had one turkey brining to perfection and thought I was done with shopping other than getting another box of salt and a carton of milk. Boy, was I wrong!

Husby requested a few last things from the store in addition to what I was already going to buy. I thought it would be a matter of me hitting two stores and being done with it. NOT! I ended up going to Rite Aid, Inky’s, IGA, Family Dollar, and the Dollar General *in that order* to get all the things that were on the short list.

Thinking I had done it, I went home without a care in the world ready to cut up my veggies and have everything prepared to throw in the oven or on the stove in the morning.

I had just gotten comfortable when Husby had the idea that we didn’t have enough turkey for everyone so he wanted me to make TWO. Well, I nearly lost my marbles. I had to go to my bedroom and have a crying fit *too much pressure*, composed myself, called around to the local stores to see who had a fresh turkey breast, then proceed to get ready to go back out into the crushing cold, whipping wind, and freezing rain to get this turkey breast.

I was so out of sorts that I ended up going north when I was supposed to be going south, then turning around only to find that in my confusion I went too far south and had to come back up north a ways to get to my destination. Thank God the people at ACME were nice and the line wasn’t long, or I would have never made it out alive. I finally was finished at 3:05 *I had left for the first battle around noon*. Thank God I made it! People were driving so stupidly and the weather was relentless. It didn’t rain on me much, though, because the wind was flinging the rain everywhere.

After arriving at my home at 3:15 I proceeded to call my mother for any last minute hints, tips, or advice that she might have for me to glean.

Now I have everything prearranged for easy throw together tomorrow morning. All will be ready in plenty of time for people to come. Here is the menu that I myself am providing:

  • Full garlic turkey
  • Tropical turkey breast
  • Giblet gravy
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Corn
  • Ambrosia
  • Cranberry sauce

Unfortunately, my good friend and sis-in-law will not be able to attend. Her mother is in dire straights physically. Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts as it is tearing my sister apart, and her mother is suffering considerably.

BTW…do you like my homemade theme?
