I love classical music, and Beethoven is one of my favorites. His birthday is today and I thought I would do a little tribute to him.
- Haydn, another great composer, was his teacher and mentor.
- He performed for Mozart, my most favorite composer, in Vienna in 1787.
- Beethoven had to stop taking lessons because his musical ability was so different from all the composers of the time.
- He did not start to become deaf until 1801 which became complete in 1817.
- He never married and died after a long illness in 1827.
If you want to learn more about Beethoven’s life, times, and works he is just a search away. There is so much information about him that it’s virtually impossible to put it all in one posting. Have a listen to one of my favorite pieces by Beethoven: Moonlight Sonata.
