Good things about today:

  • in 1865 slavery was abolished when the 13th amendment was added to the declaration of independence
  • New Jersey became the 3rd state to ratify the constitution * i live here so it’s gotta be good, right? *

Bad things about today:

  • this was the day in 2000 that George W. Bush won through the delayed Electoral college vote
  • British Parliament abolished the death penalty in 1969 as being the punishment for murderers.
