The bang of my son’s head against the wooden floor, that is. He busted his lip and slightly loosened his front teeth not long after I told him to put his shoes back on. He was running across a slippery wooden floor at my sister-in-law’s house. His teeth hurt today, there was a lot of blood, and his lip is a bit puffy…but he will live. I nearly lost my dinner, but held it together long enough to get in the car to go home.
I didn’t take any pictures of last night, but we started out at our cousin’s house where we exchanged Christmas gifts. Then we sat around and watched the kids play till around 7. Finally, we got to my sister-in-law’s party and we all had a pretty good time. My son got threatened by this little girl, upon which he promptly told me “she said she was going to smack me”. Then I had to go downstairs and regulate.
Brought the girl to her parents, made HER tell them what she did *she was scared out of her mind to tell on herself, crying and all*, finally got to the bedroom where she was told off, my son was warned for trying to push his way between people, kiss, made up, and on about their business. Apparently the little girl was impressed that I handled the situation so diplomatically and thereupon I made a new best friend who was then PROTECTING my son from harm. Isn’t it funny how kids work?
We got a Christmas ornament candle from our cousin’s mother. The baby got a spiderman web spreader *silly string on an arm cuff* from our cousin, and a spiderman towel/washcloth set from our cousin’s mother.
Met some nice people, hubby had an okay time, we all kissed at midnight and got home around 2. Me and Husby were talking and singing our way home for over an hour. We were all so exhausted. The baby was already asleep, and we were fighting it. Thank God we made it home.
SO …

Son likes spiderman, eh?

My son fell down the stairs on New Years! He hit his head on an open door.
Not a great way to ring in the New Year. Kids and their bumps, tumbles and rolls… gotta love em!
