SO The dog is an escape artist. This means that he is a clever little boy. The other day when we left him in the crate for 5 hours he got out and tore up my blinds. Last time we left him, my husband locked him in so tight that he couldn’t get out. He did chew through half of a 2×4 and bend the door backwards. Last night we left him for a few hours, but did some things differently. The kennel was reinforced then put into my bedroom with Animal Planet running and the light on. He decided it was time to try another break out and succeeded. This time, instead of pulling the door where it opens he pulled the door where it is hinged and was able to yank the metal back all the way, bending the door over and getting out. He then proceeded to take a look out the window *while ruining the bottom half of my blinds*, wallow on the bed *probably took a nap or two there*, peed on the floor *thank God it wasn’t on my clothes again*, ate some peanut M&Ms, got into my lotion spilling it all over his bed, chewed on the edges of my ironing boards, and did his level best to open the door. The door, thankfully, was locked or he would have been in my living area wreaking havoc.

My husband saw my over-emotional mad state. He then told me if it had been any other dog everything would have been destroyed in his wake. Hubby then posed the question: What did you expect?

I must be honest…I didn’t expect this:

I didn’t get a picture of the door after the second break out. It was bent nearly in half. He kept testing for weaknesses and found them. The doorknob he apparently knew needed to turn because that’s what he was trying to do. He keeps thinking we aren’t coming back but we always do. What are we going to do with this dog?

Last night we took off for Lou’s house at around 5:30pm. Coby was in his kennel in our bedroom with Animal Planet on television and the door locked. My hubby, son, and I left with high hopes that he would be okay. Finally arrived at Lou’s house around 6:35pm after making a wrong turn and going in the opposite direction that we were supposed to go. It was funny because I had fallen asleep and when I woke up I didn’t know which way to turn. We didn’t come down the way I thought we were going to, so I was all backwards in my head.

The party was great. We had wings made by T *Lou’s wife*, good pizza from the local pizzeria, plenty of soda, and plenty of wine coolers. The commercials were great! Here is one of my favorites:

A good time was had by all. My sisters came *one with her friend*, and we just hung out and had a great evening. All the chicks in the house had total silence in the room when Prince came out to sing for halftime. YES!!!!! He is such a great performer, vocalist, and he’s pretty LOL

Home early, bed early…still exhausted. Repeat performance of Saturday is scheduled for the 24th. We are all excited!

I just met a new person who introduced me to their neat blog called Simplify Every Obstacle. I love the layout of this blog. It is crisp and clean. What you find therein is a blog that is being built around positive focus and developing common sense. I love her thoughts on life and theme songs. That post really spoke to me. I always have a theme song for whatever part of my life or mood I am going through at any given time. When I was suicidal Pearl Jam’s Black kept me afloat. When I was in love, Thank God I Found You by Mariah Carey made my day. It’s all about the feeling, baby. Check out this chica’s blog. It’s going on the gals I know blogroll under Snuzulooz ;)

Egypt

I have always been in love with the romanticized figure of Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile. At one time all I did was research Egypt, its culture and history, its great wonders and mysteries…now I just read books like the one by Margaret George and dream of the day I get to see the pyramids up close and personal. I had not thought of which cities I would see other than those where I can catch a glimpse of the Sphynx, but then I saw some pictures of Sharm El Sheikh Egypt and its vast beach. The two tone water speaks to me. I really would love to travel to Egypt and take a few weeks to discover all the desert wonders and the resort filled beauty.
