Business: How to keep track of your finances

With all the things that go into building a successful business, one must forever be looking at the financial aspects of it all. The hardest part for us is trying to keep track of what is spent and what is made, what we think we will spend, what is tax deductible, and so on. Soon we are going to have to get Financial Reporting Software so we can get a firm idea of what we are working with. Between my blogging and his PrePaid Legal, we are starting to really make some headway in our lives business wise. Soon we are going to get a computer strictly for business *which this one mostly is* and make sure to have all this type of software installed to help us out.

Buy a tag, save a pet

A New Orleans pet rescue has teamed up with Big Paw Designs to create a unique opportunity for pet owners to help other pets find homes. Used Dogs has a number of pets ready to be adopted, but they need the help of people like us. There is a special charm on the website called the Woof Fleur de Lis. When bought, a portion of the proceeds will go directly to Used Dogs animal shelters and those like it. If you don’t want a dog tag, you can always get the keychain charm instead.

Consider helping out. There are a lot of animals that need the love of a forever family.

A tale of two sofas

I always enjoyed having comfy couches. The thing is, I never seem to be able to hang on to them and the only kind that I usually REALLY love are sectional sofas. The last sofas I had were plastic-like leather. They drove me nuts. You couldn’t sit down without that nasty squeaky noise, nor could you get up without looking like you had a bathroom faux paus. I am SO glad we got the sectional we did from my sister in law. It is the most comfortable set of couches I have had in a long time. And to think, we were going to spend around $2K to buy some other couches that didn’t even measure up to these. Thanks again SIL!
