I always look for people who inspire me, people who made the grade in business. Today I want to highlight Gary Halbert, a well known copywriter and direct marketeer. Unfortunately, he passed away earlier this month and cannot read this, but I am sure that the spirit in which this is written will find him wherever he is.
Gary Halbert was a man who aspired to greatness. He became one of the foremost copywriters and direct marketers in the known world. He had a profound impact on the way that copywriting has been done. His foolproof powers of persuasive writing have been the leading examples for better advertising. I was amazed the first time I read one of his letters. It was so concise, so golden that it was hard to take my eyes off of what he had used as a template for so many campaigns. You can see a sample of his cash copy for yourself.
You can read more on what will happen to his business now that he is gone. His sons are rather passionate about keeping his legacy alive and have said so in the Halbert letter. The treasure that Gary Halbert has left behind will live on and inspire many more to become better copywriters, direct marketeers, and advertisers.

The question of the week is
What do you do about working at home if something unexpected happens? Do you bag it for the day or try to make it up later?
I have to try and make it up later on either that day or as soon as I get a chance. I am panicking now because I have to make sure to have some form of Internet access when we go on our vacation in a few weeks. Falling behind more than two days can break my business. We will be gone for a week. See what I mean? I am just catching up from being offline for a few days as it is. I don’t obsess over it, but I do make a mental note of all the things I have to do when I get back online again.

So yes, it is totally official that we are going to PR in just a few short weeks. I am trying to get excited. There was no talking husby into stopping in Florida, getting an Orlando vacation home, and just taking it easy for a few days. We are going on a nearly non-stop flight to San Juan then driving over to Ponce.
I wonder if my memory card will be able to handle the stress. I can take over 300 pictures on the highest quality setting. I will have to remember to take it down some so I can get all the pictures I want out of the memory card. Then again, if I take 300 pictures of Ponce and all the areas in between, I might need more than 2 sets of rechargeable batteries since the memory card can handle it!

I admit that I am not making enough steady income to Buy stocks, bonds, or gold just yet. I do have it on my mind and keep track of which businesses are doing well in the market on a regular basis. I can’t watch the ticker just yet, but it is fascinating to see which companies consistently do well and which ones fall off the map.
One of the companies that I work with has stocks that have been rapidly climbing in price. Within hours, the stock nearly tripled in value. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into that one. I don’t believe they are publicly traded just yet, but when they do release the stock, I hope to be in the position to invest.
