My day yesterday continued

So after the battery acid problem, hubby was trying to find the final piece for the car with no luck. We did end up getting a speeding ticket in Delaware, though.. Funny how we weren’t speeding when we got stopped. We had just turned left in a blue old rickety car. There is no way that we got to 46 mph with 100 feet of the turn we just made. UGH! Stinking speed trap! The cop gave us wrong directions to go back to where we were trying to go since we were lost to start with. We ended up figuring it all out ourselves, though.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketWe decided to go shopping since we were in Delaware (no tax). I finally got a good amount of clothes for myself, as well as the luggage we were looking to get. I even bought myself 2 more pairs of shoes *sketchers sneakers and a taupe dressy flip flops*. I think I am set on clothes now. I got a nice beach bag, too. It is light blue, dark blue, and lime green. My bathing suit should be here within the week. The baby got 2 pairs of swim trunks.

Hubby found a figure of a Native man with a spear in his hand and a wolf headdress for the Native shelf in our house. Sorry, no pictures of that. Some of it is sacred.

All in all some fantastic finds. I will have to take pictures of some stuff for you when my sis gets here tonight.

Acid rain … in my house!

Yesterday my son made a car battery fall off the rickety desk he isn’t supposed to go under.. the battery flew over and hit the bottom of our new computer chair thereby cracking open and leaking battery acid all over my rug. Thankfully, no one is hurt. I did get acid on my foot and leg, but I washed it off with minimal damage done. My rug is a different story, though. Ah, just when I thought we could get out of here with our full security deposit. Guess that’s out of the window… but I can’t really complain since I got a great big surprise yesterday. I just found out since we were busy the rest of the day yesterday. More on that in a little while.

The waiting is killer

I bet that I would get quicker service if I decided to check myself into a drug rehab! I have been waiting, patiently as I can, for an appointment with the psychiatrist to no avail. I found out that they are the only office in the whole county and a few people are in front of me.

This kind of treatment makes you wish you had a worse ailment so you would get treated faster. When I was on drugs, I didn’t go to rehab. Maybe if I had, I would have been able to grab hold of this issue earlier on. I would have been 7 years with treatment instead of so many without. Maybe the psychiatrists there would have caught my issue and I wouldn’t still be suffering as I am today.

Who knows? All I know now is that I am drug free and waiting at least another 2 months before I see a psych.

Developments: chair, car, phone, coffee, dog

If you read my blogs you will know that we had our computer chair break and had been looking for a new one. The other day my son helped me to break the chair we were using for the computer so it was a bare necessity to get another one right away. Yesterday, I took off to Walmart and bought their leather office chair for under $50. It is so comfortable!

Husby got to finish my car yesterday before the rains came. It took him the better part of the day. We thought the brake line had been loose, and from my view it seemed as if it were only the back brake that was affected. Come to find out, the brake line had snapped at the bolt. Husby, being the handy man that he is, was able to take the same length of piping and securely reattach the broken bolt.

The dog decided to take off yesterday, but I will talk more about that later. At least I didn’t end up with hard feelings toward the dog, but I don’t think he will take off again for a while after yesterday…

I got my Kona in the mail from Marisa. I have a tribute to write to her later…

Husby had his phone stolen yesterday *at least that’s what I gather from the unusual story around it*. So here we go again … on another saga with VM for a new phone…ugh.

Blades of Passion

Sounds like a bad romance novel, right? In a way it is. My husband and I share an undying love for weapons, namely those with sharp edges. I can’t tell you how my neck tingles, how I get goosebumps, how my body starts to shudder at the thought of a beautiful sword or knife. We love to watch the shows on Discovery channel about Ninja gear and how it is used.

ElexorienOur favorite show *of which we can never remember the name* documented the effectiveness of different weapons used in martial arts. There is a woman on there who is so fierce! I love how the show zigzags in and out of reality by showing you the inner workings of the wound that would be inflicted from different attacks and weaponry. It’s brutal, but awesome. My husband and I watch it side by side with our eyes peeled, our mouths shut, and beads of perspiration upon our brows. It’s amazing how weapons awaken such a fervent passion in us to buy more, collect more, fondle the blades, make them our own. I know that when we finally buy our house the basement will more than likely have walls lined with the beauty of blades glinting in the pail fluorescent light.

Unconscious Mutterings for week April 22nd, 07

LunaNiña.com | Unconscious Mutterings

  1. Found :: Lost
  2. Male :: Femme
  3. Spoken :: Word
  4. Life :: Trials
  5. Tonight :: Death
  6. Fingernail :: Disease
  7. True :: Witness
  8. Give up :: Life
  9. Shining :: Beam
  10. Everywhere :: Nothing

Are you as disturbed as I am with some of my answers? I wish there was a guide to look through that would tell me what that all means. Some of them are pretty obvious as my brain tends to see in black and white… total opposites. I have also trained myself to think like a Thesaurus *as a writer it’s nearly a must* and I have to try and turn that off in order to do this exercise well.

Headache headache go away

I have been getting these recurring headaches for a week now. Migraines run in my family and it has lead me to do some research on natural remedies for said headaches. I found that one of the less expensive, but not really practical, ways to get rid of the headache is to drink a bit of chrysanthemum tea. Now, me being me, I have some on hand. Many people do not. Even just the smell of the tea brewing can calm my headaches most of the time.

Other remedies include the more expensive types of herbal medicines like Tenuate. Now, I have stated in a different blog that I was considering trying it, but it’s just way too expensive for me at this point. Eventually the recurring headaches will subside for a while and I can live every day pain free till the next bout. I just don’t want to put that much money into an herbal right now.

What types of remedies do you use *other than excedrin/ibuprofen/aspirin etc* to get rid of headaches?
