The do-follow trend is spreading, and with it there is a wave of people taking advantage. These people don’t follow in their comments, though. They only come to leave comments on your blog and gain backlinks for their own page ranking purposes. It’s rude. It’s indecent and we’re not going to take it anymore.

Some people will. Some just aren’t technically savvy enough to figure out how to remove the nofollow tags in their template.

and then there are the people who have the wordpress plugin as well as detailed instructions on how to remove the no-follow from their templates and never attempt to activate the plugin or read the instructions.

True. Reading this post on the original blog I found a few funny things. Some of the people complaining about it have nofollows active. A few even went so far as to put in different urls in their commments, in essence, doing the very thing that they were complaining about.

Suni, thank you for the post, and the digg. I appreciate it.
Richey, I’d like to know who those folks were, if you could drop me a note.

I haven’t made the jump into do follow…yet. I’m sure I am in the same boat as a lot of people that have a fear about drastic template changes. Since Sunday is always slow, I will try to do it tomorrow.

We were actually talking about people who signed up for the do-follow list and never attempted to fix it within their template or whatever.
You don’t have to mess with your template since you work with Wordpress. There is a plugin that does it for you.

Thanks for clarifying that…Hrmm, they’re like married people at a singles bar or something like that, my analogies are a grasshopper in a chicken coop wearin’ a faulty shark suit.
