Accuweather.com the weather for Ponce

I have been looking for something like this. For a while now, I have been patiently waiting to be able to see the weather we are going to have on our vacation. Thankfully, this widget from Accuweather. I am so excited to see it in real time!

If you go to the website you will see that they are having an accuweather video challenge. You can make a video and enter to win $5000 and a chance to do a real weather forecast. Check out the site for more details.

In the mean time, I am going to enjoy the fact that I have this lovely widget so I can plan ahead!

Still looking for a better job

Husby’s job just upped the ante for him to stay, but it’s still not what he wants. We were thinking about signing him up for online education so he could get his degree and then he wouldn’t be barred from a lot of the jobs that he is into. It’s funny to me how so many places require that you have a 4 year degree, but they don’t care what you studied to get it. Does that make any sense to you?

It doesn’t to me. Every track is not the same as another. I could have a degree in underwater basket weaving and apply for a job as a restaurant manager. Sure I would have to have X amount of restaurant experience, but how does that degree qualify me? It doesn’t. If Husby does it, though, it will be related to whatever work it is that he wants to do.

Wordless Wednesday and Thursday Thirteen: PR style

Yes, I know I am a slacker. I was so speechless from that book yesterday that I didn’t even post a Wordless Wednesday picture. SO I figured I would tie it in with my Thursday Thirteen of things that I am taking to Puerto Rico. I am doing it this week since I will be busy next week and may not get a chance to tell you!

  1. Digital camcorder
  2. Old San Juan, Puerto Rico (by olivertomic)

  3. Digital camera
  4. At least 4 pairs of shoes
  5. MP3 player
  6. Rechargeable batteries & charger
  7. Extra towels
  8. Sunglasses *if I can find them :( *
  9. Sunscreen
  10. Toothbrushes *must NOT forget*
  11. Sometimes I Act Crazy Book
  12. Moleskine notebooks
  13. Earplugs
  14. Motion sickness tablets *for the mountain driving*

I still have to find some concert tickets for Husby. I am hoping against hope that there is at least one reggaeton concert when we get down there.

If you are getting tired of me yammering on and on about my trip… sorry!

I just wanna be comfortable!

Ever have those days when it’s just a little chilly? You want to snuggle under the covers for a little longer, then. Those are the days I wish for some loose, comfortable clothes. Honestly, the most comfortable clothes I ever wore were my father’s scrubs from when I was born. He kept them and wore them as pajamas, then handed the shirt down to me. Talk about love. It looked like a shorter lab coat in green, but it was one of my most treasured shirts.

Now that I think about it, maybe he kept the suit for more than just the fact that it was comfortable. I would like to think that he kept it to remind him of the first time he saw me. I guess I will ask him about it when I call him later. Maybe not. I am already a bit teary at the prospect of it!
