A warning for all parents, or anyone who cares for children– Laura’s daughter received second degree burns from a regular plastic playground slide.

Spruce up with plants that live forever
I adore fake plants. Why? No mess, no fuss, no watering. I don’t have to worry about the plants being eaten by the dog and him getting sick off the poisons. I don’t have to worry about killing the plants from neglect. I love how real they can make the plants look. I have a fake poinsettia that I use at Christmas. It looks so real, no one can tell the difference. I have been considering getting a few silk trees to make the house look more vibrant. Green tends to liven up an otherwise dull background. More green sprinkled through the house brings the color scheme we are working on all the way around the room.
Husby spoils me: Coach purse and wallet
Teehee I meant to tell you all that my husband is too cute! Last week he bought me a brand spanking new red Coach purse. It’s so cute. The next morning I woke up to find a brown Coach wallet laying on the countertop! Is he not the best husband EVaR?? I don’t even need another purse, but he was so nice as to get it for me anyway. I never had a Coach purse before. I have them together, hanging up inside the little brown Coach protective bag the purse came with. Just wanted to share some of my spoiledness.

Energy aplenty
HopPing Golf balls! I can’t believe how much energy this kid has. He is totally off the hinges! He is like an ocean tide…somewhat predictable but sometimes very off kilter. Sometimes he is calm and sweet and like an hour later he is running at full speed at the shore. I might be eroding little by little in this process. I wonder if he will ever have an even calm.
New mail system
Looks like we are going to be getting a new mailbox system. It is going to be like the more traditional type of apartment mail, where the mailperson only has to go to one spot to drop off the mail. It will make it much easier for the mailperson, but not for me. I lose keys. It’s what I do. I still haven’t found they keys I lost in the field 2 weeks ago. They are installing the mailbox patios slowly but surely all around the complex.
Another problem: getting mail in the bad weather.
Another problem: where will my packages go?
Another problem: EW I will have to…like…see people. Not just any people, but the people from my part of the neighborhood…
I think..I am going..to cry.
Taking advantage of travel offers
Not just any travel offers, though. Have you ever taken a vacation based on those offers you get through the mail? You know the kind I am talking about. Much like Branson real estate they promise you an amount of days and nights at a reduced rate. All you have to do is show up for a seminar or two about the real estate in that area. My sister in law did one of those to get a vacation to Florida. She said she enjoyed everything but the seminar. Anyone else have this type of vacation? What did you think about it? Would you do it again?
In Honor of My father
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers.
Once upon a time I was 6 years old. My father was Superman and I was his one and only special girl. Then his love had to grow to add another child into his life. Two years later, his love had to stretch even farther as another child brought him to a grand total of 3. He was doting and proud of his children.
Fast forward…teen angst, tough times.
Fast forward…we are best friends. He was the one I went to first when I wanted to get married. He was the first to know when we were trying for our son. He gives advice and listens with an ear of wisdom.
Even with all the rough spots, he is still one of the best fathers I have ever known. I thank the ultimate Father God for allowing me to know my own father as I do now. I am so glad that my son has been blessed with such a doting and stern grandfather. With your guidance and love, he will become the great man that God has called him to be.
God bless you, daddy. Happy Father’s Day!

I never thought to visit: Tennessee
I have never though of visiting Tennessee for a vacation. Well, not until I saw the Pigeon Forge vacation rentals. Checking out the pictures of Smoky Mountain really made me want to take a trip over there. Just check out all the pictures Flickr has to offer to attest to the beauty of the spot. Another shocker: it’s cheap. I can get away with staying for around 130 a night in a beautiful scenic resort. I am really shocked at how many places there are that I have never thought of as a place to vacation. I think I iwll be exploring this a lot more in the near future.
