The next blog convention

I just got wind that the next blog convention will be in Florida. I guess that means I won’t be booking any Vegas hotels any time soon. I have never been to Florida or Vegas, but they are both on my short list of places to visit before I die. I hope that I can make it to this convention. I think the airfare is cheaper than to Vegas anyway. Who knows what will happen by nearly the end of the year? Maybe I will be rolling in cash and won’t have to worry about it by then. *crosses fingers*

The list: Puerto Rico finances

We were going through our paperwork from the last trip we took to Puerto Rico to figure out how much we are going to spend this time. Since we are planning to be gone 2 weeks instead of 8 days all expenses being there are increased. Getting there we will need:

2 weeks of kennel: $200 (at least)
Renter’s Insurance ($20/month)
travel insurance ($100)
food ($120)
gas (to be determined)

So far that’s all I can think of outside of the tickets & car ($1400).  I just hope that we get enough back in our taxes to cover EVERYTHING much like last time. We also need a ride to and from the airport since we can’t leave from Wilmington this time.

Jiu Jitsu

Try saying that a few times and see if you don’t turn out saying something like joo joo bees. LOL

Last night we attended a Jiu Jitsu class for children to see if we wanted my son to go on a regular basis. Needless to say, he loved it. That boy was so excited he could hardly stand still. I think next time I will take the video camera so I can record him sparring. He even made a new friend while he was there. His classes begin on Monday afternoon and continue on Wednesday and Friday. The school is Christian based and everyone is very friendly. I am happy to say that we have finally begun his training. This is just adding to all the awesomeness of homeschooling him!

My husband is supposed to go on Tuesday and check out the adults, but I think he already has made up his mind to go to a school in North Jersey instead.

Delta, take me away

It won’t be long now till we get our tax refund and take our vacation. It won’t be too much more time before I yank out our faux Samsonite luggage and pack it for a fun filled 2 week trip in April. If we travel from Philly it will turn out a bit cheaper with less of a layover than we had last year. I can hardly wait. I think my husband and I will be celebrating our birthdays in Puerto Rico. They are only a week away from each other to start with. My son can’t wait, either. This should be another awesome trip.

Worried about Dad

I am thinking about getting my dad a medical id bracelet due to the problems he has been having recently. I would hate for him to be alone in public and something happen. NO one would know what to do or who to call for him. I think those bracelets are a blessing. Do any of you have one or know someone who does? I am also thinking about one for my son due to his severe milk allergy. Mostly, it’s my father on my mind right now. I also think it would help to ease my mother’s mind when he goes out into the world alone.
