Yesterday, in celebration of my grandmother’s birthday (RIP) I went out with my buddies Brenna and Lisa to their weekly trivia night up at:

Trivia Night by you.

There I was able to meet the lovely friends of Bren who I have heard about for years:

Trivia Night by you.

And meet up with an old friend I haven’t seen since like 1997:

Trivia Night by you.

Whereupon we had giggles and fits till the three rounds (and the final round) of trivia was over. AND WE WON!!! We were team “Why So Serious?” in honor of the new Batman movie.

Trivia Night by you.

We had honey hot wings, there was a beer tower (which I didn’t have any of), a few drinks around the table, a molten chocolate cake dessert with ice cream (mine MMMMM), and french fries. The food was really really good.

There was also the appearance of a hugemungous cicada who landed at the wrong table (next to us) where it was poked and prodded into a screaming fit by the people sitting there. It had fallen between the backboard and the immovable cusion of the bench seat. Poor cicada…dunno if he lived or not.

All in all a great night that only cost me 20 bucks :D Thanks to the Man for sticking it out at home with the Boy, I didn’t have to come back till we were truly done, but I still made it back around 12:30am. Hope I can go again soon!

Yes I have gone back to the FLYlady system. I failed miserably at it the first time, but I think this time it will work! So far, so good. I’m only about 4 days in, so I will have to keep you abreast of my progress. My sink is shiny :D

The last couple days, I have noticed an extra amount of oil on my face. At first, I thought it was from me cooking with olive oil in the kitchen. Now, I think it’s my skin reacting to something that I am doing (or not doing). I am unsure which. I have also had a small resurgence of pimples (ew)…I am just hoping that I don’t need any kind of acne cures any time soon. I hope it’s just because the weather keeps changing so rapidly. Only time will tell, I guess.

Today I was feening for Pepsi. Now, I haven’t had Pepsi in my house for over a week, so you KNOW I had to find some on sale. Lo and behold, I found some that JUST went on sale today for 2.99/12 pack!!! So I hurriedly got myself together and zoomed over to the store, where I happily found orange juice on manager’s special 2 days sale for 1/2 gallon: $1.77 !!! SHAWEET. Then, at the counter they only had ONE slice of my favorite chocolate chip cake left .. YOINK! I got the Man a slice of the banana bread cuz he loves it that much. :D YAY ME!!!

I keep getting papers in the mail about my husband’s benefits from his job. Sometimes I wonder why they bother to send anything at all. The only papers I really look for are the ones that say we have to recheck our policy before the next enrollment. I am pretty sure that our enrollment isn’t coming up for another few months, but they send these papers about life insurance rates, changes in the fine print, papers that look like bills but say “this is not a bill” all the time. I think we will probably keep everything the same this year as we did last year, since it worked out okay for us so far.

I don’t think anyone really understands how enjoyable a blueberry bagel with cream cheese can be until they have not been able to eat one for a long time.

I have a serious habit of not eating so others can eat, even when there is no danger of running out too soon. It’s almost like an inborn trait. I continuously save things for others… like cream cheese. I save that for my husband. I rarely ever eat anything with cream cheese. I settle for the “cant believe this is not butter knock-off” in the bottom of the fridge. I won’t even eat bagels if I think we might run out soon… We get to the last bag and I leave them for my husband.

I do the same thing with turkey dogs, milk, chicken nuggets, and cereal (to name a few). Unless it is something I bought specifically for myself that no one else can have, I will save it for the others in my household. I dare call it food non-compulsive disorder… I always eat out of calculated risk of not having for others.

Am I the only one?
