OMG The new haircut
The play went great
other than the stool falling into a basin of water and a fire on stage, everything went fabulous. One more night!!! Everyone did so well. I had tears in my eyes when I was supposed to be beating up on Jesus I think, because it was so emotional.
Taz, where are your slippers?
I have to say that at least 5 times a day to my son. We have no rugs on our floors downstairs, so the floors are like ice all the time. Good for summer weather, I’m sure…but not while we are still transitioning from winter to actual spring. Even with the warm temps yesterday, our floor was still cold. It’s a thin floor over a brick basement, so you can imagine what I mean. We are still contemplating whether or not we want to get area rugs for the living room just so we can be comfy in there. Poor kid. He’s used to being able to run around with bare feet. Just a few more months, and he will be able to do it again
Whole lot of practice goin’ on
We have a lot of practicing to do before the debut of the Easter play at our church. Last night, I was given 3 more songs to remember. Our play is Wednesday! I don’t know that I can do it, especially without the music on tape or cd to help out. I at least have my lines down for the Peter denial scene. The rest is going to be pretty hard to get through. I think I get to keep my book for one song because it’s so danged difficult and no one can remember it very well. We have extra performances on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday for certain scenes and songs. I only have to do my scene the two nights, but I still have to help in the other scenes that are being portrayed. I got my costume last night and it’s all PURPLE!!! *dies* I adore it! How they knew I loved purple I will never know. I have to go upstairs and find my black sandals so I can be all in the time period. Excited and scared and praying that all works out well! The triumphant entry is Sunday where “Jesus” comes in on a real donkey and we all wave palms while singing. Fun stuff! I will have a pic of myself in the costume on Wednesday
no redecoration required
I don’t know what we will end up with once we move to the Bronx, but right now we have this little house with a yard. I know we won’t have a yard when we move, so I am going to enjoy the heck out of the one we have now. I also have not felt the need to really make this house a “home” per se. I mean, we are only here till the end of August. I am not trying to customize the place and put up Bamboo Blinds, fancy tables, buy a couch that would actually fit in the living room, etc. I think that we have made it homey enough to survive the next few months without too much inconvenience. Heck, I have my family, my tv, my computer, and music…all this provided by the blessings of God…what more could I ask for?
Another week nearly gone
The weeks are floating by like flopsom on the seas. I can’t believe it was just Monday and now it’s Thursday all over again. I have a pajama party to attend tonight *all grown women at church*, then play practice tomorrow night *i’m the woman who accuses peter and he denies Jesus*, baby shower on Saturday at 4pm for a friend, Sunday I am supposed to sing in the worship team and go to my mother in law’s b/c she is cooking dinner. Last night was church *bible study & royal rangers*. I’m glad that this week we didn’t have a business meeting, but that will return next week. I have a heap of things to do before then paperwork wise. I also have to finish up my jobs online so I can get paid. See why I am like “oh no! it’s nearly Friday already??!!!”
