You know what’s amazing ? Technological advances in artwork and digital design. They even have cad drawing which are like 3D. I am in awe and inspired by the wonderful things people do with computers and graphics.

We are right next to the “train” which most people outside of NY would call the subway. I was surprised to find out that what I thought was actually a train is still the subway, even though it is not all submerged underground. I was also shocked to know that people around here think that the subway is the higher classed way to travel, even if you have to walk after you get off the train. The highest level is a cab, the lowest is the bus. People would actually rather just WALK places than to take the bus.

In NJ it’s not like that. You take what you take and no one thinks any less of you. I was all “yay we can take the bus anywhere” and my husband was explaining this weird phenomenon to me. I still don’t quite comprehend it. I mean, NJ has Amtrak which is not the same. Just such a different world up here than down Jersey.

Stress is a funny creature. Sometimes it makes me eat way more than I should, and sometimes it makes me not want to eat for days. This time around, it has been switching off. Some days I can’t get enough to eat, then others I am so out of it I forget to eat completely. The last time I went on a “stress diet” people swore I was abusing diet pills because I lost so much weight! The bad thing is that I don’t feel sick when I do it. I have always been this way, since I was a little girl. I distinctly remember a time when all I ate for a week was 2 pieces of bread. I nearly fainted and my mother was like “when was the last time you ate?” and I could not even remember!!! Anyone else have that same problem? I would love to hear about what you go through and how you deal with it.

How? Even our VIP seating was overrun with people searching for healing yesterday. Since we could not go to the service we planned to attend, we and our friends decided to venture out and see what was around.

We ended up in Elizabeth, NJ *b/c we were already IN NJ* at the IKEA and Jersey Gardens Mall. What fun! I had never been to either. We fell in love with IKEA, though. We are planning to go back there with some mula after we get into our new digs and stock up.

Afterward, we all headed over to our friends’ house to watch a kung fu movie and have dinner. Loads of fun!

Not literally, but yesterday we went to Central Park for the first time as a family. Talk about the best fat burner! First, I was shaking a lot because Manhattan driving scares the CRAP out of me. Second, we had to walk a fair distance to get to anything *bathrooms, the event @ the band shell, the playground, back to the truck*. Third, hearing the price of parking in that area made me sweat bullets. I probably have lost like ten pounds yesterday alone!

From our balcony I can see a vast area of water on either side. We are near the beach and the bay. It’s crazy how close the water looks from here. We don’t have any outdoor furniture on the balcony, though, so I cannot sit out there and enjoy the weather. I have to stand and watch the things that go on, like the ships, fishermen, little boats, highway, train, and airplanes taking off. It’s a really busy place. I am not used to the world always “moving”. It’s a lot to get used to all at once.

Since moving to NY I have had to find other creative ways to keep in contact with family I used to talk to all the time. I got extra minutes on my phone, live chat software, and I am waiting for a special item which I will tell you about later. It’s fun to chat online, and even better with my webcam. I get to see my nephew and little sister a lot that way :P

Today we are headed to our new church. We have settled in pretty well at “home”, so we feel comfortable enough to make the journey. From Queens to the Bronx there are tolls and sometimes lots of traffic. Hopefully, there won’t be very much traffic so we can get there early. I hate being “on time” or late to things, especially church. The youth pastor won’t be there, but his wife will…so will a number of the kids we adopted when we last visited. This time we are here to stay. I wonder how different things will be now…
