We are right next to the “train” which most people outside of NY would call the subway. I was surprised to find out that what I thought was actually a train is still the subway, even though it is not all submerged underground. I was also shocked to know that people around here think that the subway is the higher classed way to travel, even if you have to walk after you get off the train. The highest level is a cab, the lowest is the bus. People would actually rather just WALK places than to take the bus.
In NJ it’s not like that. You take what you take and no one thinks any less of you. I was all “yay we can take the bus anywhere” and my husband was explaining this weird phenomenon to me. I still don’t quite comprehend it. I mean, NJ has Amtrak which is not the same. Just such a different world up here than down Jersey.
