People can say a lot of things. Sometimes you may think you need disposable shoe covers to protect yourself through the much other people spew at you and about you. I get really turned off by the way people can act toward you at any given moment. It hurts, and it’s sad, but you can always walk through it, take off the dirt, and move on. That’s what I am struggling to do right now. It’s all I can think about. I hope that I can do it quickly so that I can get back to being happy me.

Getting to me
This time of year I usually get depressed to an extent, but this year it’s been harder to fend off. There are a lot of things that are getting to me moreso than usual. I wish that I could say that they are not, but since yesterday it has been worse. Things went down yesterday that I am not at liberty to speak about in public company, but just know that it wasn’t too pretty. I am ready to move on with my family and my life and just forget everything that has transpired since September.
I have to say that having the hubs home this whole year has been a revelation. It is a joy to be with my family every day and love each other. That, and my sister’s baby, are the only real things I want to take into the new year.
Most of the problems are not anything we can handle ourselves. The problems are with other people and not our fault. It is hard to deal with people who do not know your talents, your worth, your testimony, or your true spirit. It’s hard to let it shine forth when all you want to do is protect yourself and your family from emotional harm.
Only God knows what the new year will bring for us, but I can only believe that it will be a better year than this one was.
Let me upgrade you
With the number of jobs being lost over the course of the last year plus, it’s no wonder that colleges are booming with applications. There are far too many people now out of work who need to upgrade their skills or get into a different line of works so they can have another job. I am sure that online degree programs are a huge part of the equation. Most people have unlimited access to the internet already in their homes, so being there to do the program is not a problem. Another reason is that it is more cost effective to go to school online than to travel to one.
I have been looking into this particular online university for my husband to be able to get his own degree. He is hugely interested in business and accounting. Their program is extremely affordable, and the programs are extensive in their training. I have recommended that he look further into the requirements for completion already. Hopefully, we will be looking at a college graduate in our near future.
Had a Merry Little Christmas
We traveled to NJ yesterday and got to visit with both our families and one set of our mutual friends. We had breakfast with our friends, dinner with my family, and snacks at his family’s place. It was a whirlwind of a day! We got back to our place in NY at 2 in the morning. My son had a fantastic Christmas, receiving more than he had asked for and most of what he wanted. He got some things we asked for him to get, too, like shoes. This 6 year old is in a size 5 – 5 1/2 shoe! We got a few things we like, too. The best part, by far, was spending fun times with family. No one was angry or in a bad mood. Everyone was loving to each other. Thank You Jesus!
Christmas traditions
We are still forming our traditions. We have only been married 8 years and our son is just about to be 7 years old, so we have time to really establish traditions for our family. One thing we have already established is the tree. We decorate it as a family every year. We also have a cookie baking thing, even though this year we didn’t get to do it. We are thinking of adding going to Rockefeller Center as part of our tradition as well. What traditions do you and your family have every year? What would you like to add?
Rockefeller 2009
Winter is here and with a little vengeance!

At least we got to the Roc Center to see the tree before this storm set in. We went yesterday. Got to see Nintendo World,

the angel walk, the pretty swarovski display *which i didnt get a picture of
*, and the wonderful snowflake light show on the side of the Radio City Music Hall, and the NBC Studios exhibit/store.

and let us not forget the main attraction: the tree!

Nice time !!! After all that, we had a great adventure called “find the train to bring us home” LOL. We got back around 3 in the morning, but it was really fun
The Kid wants to do the train every day now
I’m too old to be cute
Sitting here with the family during *everyone spend time together in the same room while messing with different types of electronic media* time. I made a noise that went along with the Super Mario game my son is playing, so he asks me if why I make the sound…like do I think it’s a cute sound or something *totally not sarcastic, tho, this is the way my son thinks*. I replied “No, I’m too old for anything I do to be cute”. LOL! I tell people that I hit 30 when I turned 28. Now I am actually going to be 30 in a few months and I am truly feeling the pressure.
Leaning forward
We are taking our time to get things right, I guess. Where we live is not ideal while our ideal place is being completed, but it’s a lot better than sleeping on a bare garage floor. I am leaning forward, though, pressing on to the end of one cycle and into another, more stable, prosperous one.
