Nerve wracking fun

Now I am waiting for the paper from the passport people so I can send it back with my new photos. The only thing holding me up… argh! Today I am going to get my passport photos done around the corner.

Other than that, I have already got a run down of my wardrobe for the days we are there. First day, I am wearing my spaghetti strap gold and white babydoll style shirt with my knee length shorts. Second day, I have an adorable brown and white dress, same style as the shirt. Third day, I have a longer dress *to the ankle* same style, but with cute zigzag threads in different colors. Fourth day is the wedding, so I will be dolled up in my black ankle length dress with accents of bracelets, necklace, and earring in silver and black. The last day I will have on some cutesy shorts *knee length again* with a simple tshirt. I am hoping to get a T while in Jamaica to wear the day back. Any of those days would be us going to formal dinner, so whatever I am wearing, except the first night, will be appropriate wear for every day.

As for swimwear, I have a new adorable suit from Burlington Coat Factory, and my old one from Lands End Overstocks. That should cover whatever swimming will occur, both of which are modest two pieces with skirts attached. Lots of fun :D

We are taking carry-ons only so we don’t have to check anything. Checking bags costs now AND you never know if they will lose your stuff.

Mating season

The sky is blue, the grass is green, and the pigeons are mating on the patio cushions… EW. I could go without that scene going on every day. It’s nature, but does it have to be so natural there? What you gonna do? The pigeons have to get their procreation on. It’s the only real wildlife around here, other than the black squirrels and harpy seagulls.

Bumps in the road

So I was anticipating a bump free process for our passports. I was more nervous that there would not be enough information provided, but that is not the problem. THE PICTURES!!! I am a little upset about it because I did the pictures myself. I worked hard to find the right lighting and whatnot. I made sure the measurements were perfect, the frame was correct, everything centered…and MY photos were the ones that were rejected! :( So yeah. I found a 2 dollar coupon to get them done for 6.99 at any CVS and so I shall. They guarantee acceptance, so that’s what I am going to do probably tomorrow.

Planning

I have a lot of things brewing in my mind right now and I am unsure how exactly to put it on paper. I have a number of goals that I have to meet in a relatively short period of time.

Blogging, writing, guitar, fitness, ministry, our vacation, and then some… Time to compartmentalize and execute.

Jamaica so perdy

Ocho Rios by Mr.ThomasEvery time I see a picture of Jamaica, no matter where it is displayed, you could believe that you are watching HDTV. The colors are so vivid and pure. It brings new meaning to “the grass is always greener” phrase. My thing to do is take a look through Flickr and see what other people have taken pictures of while living in or visiting Jamaica. Even storms there are breathtakingly beautiful. Wow.

Countdown to Jamaica

I did not officially start our countdown till yesterday, when we sent our passport applications out. I know most people would have started the day they RSVP’d or even the day they paid for their trip, but I’m special so I waited 3 more days LOL.

Last night, my hubby found me a bargain pair of adorable dressy flip flops to wear to the wedding with my long simple black dress. I am counting on “cocktail attire” seeing this as an acceptable pair. My actual cocktail dress is in storage, so this one is going to have to do.

He also got me a reasonable bathing suit, which is pretty and sporty. I don’t like showing off all my everything. Mine is tasteful and doesn’t show anything inappropriate.

Other than that, we already have our 2 carryon bags, our flight confirmation, shorts, tshirts, and pretty much everything else we will need to go down there with. It’s going to be a great 5 days :D

Just pray with us that our expedited overnighted passport applications come back to us fully approved without a hitch well before our date to leave.
