No power still

We probably won’t have power till Friday or Saturday, according to LIPA. *sigh* We have one light and a fridge on the generator, and only for a few hours a day. I stay camping out at the church all day so I won’t go bonkers. I have been killing time with crochet and planning things for the fall. There are a lot of things to be done and the months are creeping up on us quickly.

Funny how things work

You know how this thing is actually affecting me? In my mood. The thing I have found akin to getting the best diet pills is to want to be out of the house away from food all day since there is no power there. I am not the type of person that can sit in candlelight and eat myself into oblivion.

Power outage

Tropical Storm Irene really did a number on our town. The Long Island area we live in is without power from 3 A.M. Saturday till anytime between now and Friday. We finally were able to get a generator up and running so we didn’t lose our food. We saw some of the damage that the power people have to deal with and it’s horrible. Huge trees down EVERYWHERE! I feel bad for the people that are working day and night to rectify the situation.

love it in the store

I love being able to walk into a store, pick up a cordless barcode scanner, and get to shopping. I adore how the prices just pop up for you. There are coupons, deals, specials, and easy checkout. I LOVE IT!!!! We only have one store close to where we live now like that. I wish all stores were like that LOL!

Hubby still in pain

That car accident left him in a bit of a mess. He has already had to take 2 and a half days off work. I don’t think he can make it in today. He probably will try to go in anyway, because that’s who he is. We have ministry tonight, too. I am praying for him to be able to make it through this day. He honestly needs to take a week off, but I know he won’t do it. *sigh* If his pain hasn’t subsided by some degree by Monday, he is going to the neurologist!

Ignite 2011

I didn’t take any pictures because I was busy running around most of the time, but the concert was phenomenal. nearly 200 people in attendance, 5 of which gave their lives to Christ and 40 rededicated their lives. The ministers were hype. The crowd was live. The preaching was fire. God did an amazing work. This church came together in unity and tears came to my eyes to see such dedication to the cause of Christ. The night went absolutely perfectly!

On the road again

Yeah tonight anyway. We are traveling to get our fellow minister from the airport. Makes me recall the days of old (for us) when we did this kind of thing all the time. The kind of days when we would have needed the best trucking gps we could buy to get to where we needed to go in record time. I miss traveling for ministry like we used to *sigh*. Maybe one day, we will ride again :D

The news is crazy

There have been so many crazy stories recently. The crazy guy that dismembered the little 8 year old. The 18 year old that was drunk and urinated on a sleeping 11 year old on a plane. A kid being on trial for punching another kid four years younger than him at a high school in the area. There are more…

The world is going crazy all at once.
