We are still running the same car we have been running since my son was born. It’s a ‘92 Buick Skylark. I love it, other than the fact that it needs some TLC. If we were to get some body shop supplies to take care of the rust bubbles and the ceiling cave in that we are experiencing, I would be extra happy. That is the best car we have ever owned. It barely cost us anything in repairs over the last four years. I pray that it lives for a long time, but we really should fix a few things on it if we plan to keep it much longer.

Car enthusiasts love to put pictures of cars all over their living spaces. When I was younger, I had no less than two posters or pictures of my favorite cars in my room. I would dream about the day I could drive and what I would buy. Little did I know that the prices of those cars would drive me to look at Used Cars in place of new. If not for used cars, I would never have had a car at all. There is no feeling like buying your own car for the first time, no matter what age or condition it is in.

Now that I am older, we don’t put car pictures on the walls. Now I get to use things like Mercedes Wallpapers for the computer. I think it’s more sophisticated to do that as a maturing adult. The real joy in that comes in when you know you can easily change your background to another with a few clicks of a mouse. You can have a different car for every mood you are in during every day if you want. That is a lot more fun than hanging pictures or trying to find the right posters for your room.

Another thing that has changed as I have grown up is how I look at cars. With a family, it’s important to keep up with the latest Motoring News. You never know when a part of your car will be recalled. You also should check out the safety ratings of different vehicles before you buy. That little tidbit of information might just safe a life.

Last I left you we were finally done getting the new car.

SO we dropped the child and the blue car off at my mother’s house and went out on the town to shop in the gold one. First stop, tires. The car had 2 bald, one nearly bald, and one nearly halfway decent tire. BJs tire center was slooooow so we decided to go the new NTB across the street. They were great, even though it still took a while. I was glad to have a Pen to write down my thoughts about the situation..more about that later. They even were able to break the locks off the front tires *hence why there were bald tires there in the first place, I guess*.

I also got to get some strawberry smelly trees for the car, then off we went to buy CLOTHES!!!

This is where it all went downhill. IF you thought I might have been aggravated before, buying clothes honestly screwed me up. I was in tears by the end of that journey. I can’t believe how HUGE I am compared to what I was before… and this ain’t no baby fat. Read the rest of this entry »

This is in two parts because it was such a tedious, long day. We set out to buy my husband the Eagle Talon we looked at on Thursday. It seemed like a promising deal, especially since there was another car that I liked so we were going to get them both from the same dealer.

Everything seemed to be okay when we returned on Friday to get the car. We decided to drive it to the DMV to get the papers for it, drop the blue car, come back and get the gold one for me and repeat. WELL we got as far as about 3/4 the way to the DMV when the Eagle Talon’s transmission stuck. Read the rest of this entry »

AutoCity101.com has been established for the sole purpose of benefiting the Natalia’s House Orphanage. This facility is planned for ground breaking sometime this year. The founders, Christian and Stephanie, envision the orphanage as a refuge for hurting children of all kinds. They are willing to give medical care and love to those in need of it.

The AutoCity101 service is completely free to its users. Any car dealer or private citizen can list their car or buy one from the site at no cost to them. The revenue from ads on the site is paving the way to the future of the orphanage. Seventy percent of the proceeds are strictly marked for the project.

Make sure you check the site out, whether you are listing your Used Cars For Sale or in the market to buy one, you will be doing yourself a service as well as helping these poor innocent children find a place of peace in their lives.

My car…I love my car. It is starting to rust and look not so nice but I have had it for four years and I don’t want to part with it. It’s a metallic blue ‘92 Buick Skylark. It has run for over 200,000 miles. Hubby had a meeting about an hour and a half away and he wouldn’t take ol’ blue with him. He is scared that she is getting too close to death to be trusted far distances. :( Don’t die ol’ blue!!! You saw me through a tumultuous time with my son and so many other instances that only you and I will ever know. You have heard my secrets, you know my prayers! What will I do? I know I have to move on somehow…maybe get a pre-owned vehicle. I will have to try and get along without you ol’ blue. It is painful to have to look for a newer car. One that doesn’t have so many miles. I know you have been around the block a few times, but I still love you ol’ blue! I want someone totally unlike you…maybe a Pacifica…because I don’t want to be reminded of you and the joyful years that we have spent together.
