I have been nominated

for a number of Blogger’s Choice Awards. You can check them out and vote for all my nominated blogs. So far, I have a nomination for Best Animal Blogger, Hottest Mommy Blogger, Best Geek Blog, and Best Blog Design. If I have more nominations, I will let you know. I don’t think that I will win, but it would be nice to see how many people decide to vote for me.

I am looking forward to seeing how this whole thing goes down. There are a lot of great bloggers being featured on the site. Lot of my friends are on the roster as well as some pretty well known blogs like Lifehacker and Problogger.net. There are over 20 different categories including Worst Blog of all time. I really hope I don’t get nominated for that category. I think my heart would stop. I wonder which blog will be the best blog of all time. I haven’t been nominated for htat one, either, but my friend Scorpy has. Make sure you vote for her blog, too.

The winners of the blog awards will be announced at the PostieCon conference in June. Too bad I won’t be there to hear them.

I think I want some corn Fritters

Yes. I am staring down the leftover corn and thinking: Gee, that would taste pretty marvelous inside a fritter. I haven’t had them in a long time. Of course, thinking about them makes me think of hush puppies. Now I am making myself drool… because the next thought is to bake some cornbread and then fry it up since I do happen to have some strawberry preserves here.

Oh gosh, now what? What will I make? Cornbread for dinner sounds good but fritters for breakfast. MMM. Yeah. I think that is the plan. How will I make the fritters? Very simple. I use the same basic pancake recipe that I used in my apple pancakes and just substitute apple for corn… and DON’T put it in the blender. You want all that kernely goodness intact. That’s what makes the texture so very special.

OR I might just try this other recipe and get my fat calories in for the day.

Cass has a number of blogs from which she shares her insight and expertise on a plethora of subjects. She is a Mother of many who can Knit. I have one of her famous hats. Cass is uber talented. I love how she talks about the neat things she finds all over the internet and in real life. Of course, you know that having such a quiver-full of children, she can’t be 20, but she will tell you all about her Midlife musings as she watches her babies grow up to be young adults.

My sister-twin is on the ball when it comes to God, Christianity, and how they correlate to real life. I have been fascinated by her thoughts on Adam and his Kin. Reading about the generations of people and how their lives relate to each other in the spans of years is enthralling. I am so happy she is such a History Hound.

Finally something to post for the Friday Ark. Every time I see it come up on the blog carnival website I think to myself : My how I would love to contribute to this carnival. Well, I have my puppy now so here is a picture of him and my son in the living room together. Aren’t they too adorable?

They are already bosom buddies. My son won’t let him alone. He keeps following him around and trying to jump on his back. My son takes Coby into his room or the kitchen and they have conversations. Coby is just lapping up the lovin’. He is also a spoiled boy already. Coby enjoys getting foot rubs, massages with his brand new brush, laying all over his new daddy in my bed, licking faces, scaring squirrels, and many brisk walks around the neighborhood. You would never know he was neglected, and we have only had him since Friday. I always wanted to rescue a dog, and I am thankful for Petfinder and Camp Waggin’ Tails for their help in obtaining Coby.
