The Las Vegas bloggers’ convention is coming up on November 8th. Bloggers from around the world are going to converge on Vegas for one of the biggest events in blog history: BlogWorld & New Media Expo. Lots of my friends are meeting up in Vegas for the huge 3 day event. I wish that I could go, but alas money and time do not allow for such a luxury…

Carnival of Injustice volume 2
Welcome to the October 5th edition of the Carnival of Injustice. Many posts came in this time, and so many injustices were spotlighted. Read them and see what you can do to help stop these abhorrent issues from recurring.

The critical truth that they often fail to realize is that freedom of religion requires freedom from religion. How sad it is then to see the American military violating the religious freedom of our young men and women in uniform.”
Jon Swift presents Burma Schmurma posted at Jon Swift, saying, “I’m just as bored by what’s happening in Burma as most liberal bloggers seem to be.” Take a look and see why he says so.

Marcella Chester presents Another Exonerated Man Found Guilty posted at abyss2hope: A rape survivor’s zigzag journey into the open, saying, “Exonerations of the truly innocent are wonderful events, but there is a danger of confusing “not enough evidence” with “proof of innocence and trustworthiness” and as this recent case shows children can face great danger from the exonerated.”

Marcella Chester presents Overreaction To The Irate And The Clumsy? posted at abyss2hope: A rape survivor’s zigzag journey into the open, saying, “The high school girl who had her wrist broken after not cleaning up the crumbs to the security guard’s standards is a clear example of why the “got to show them who has the power” model is harmful when used against those who are not dangerous criminals or a violent threat to others. Fortunately, there is an alternative approach to conflict resolution that has been demonstrated in Crisis Intervention Teams.”

Are you a clusterblogger?
I know that I am. I tend to write something out and decide that I am hitting too many subjects in one post, so I break it up. The problem being that I end up not being able to contain myself and you end up with five back to back posts within minutes of each other. This is helped by the fact that I own so many different blog spaces, but the clusterblogging still comes into play.
It usually hits on one blog at a time. I just got finished two posts on my mindsay blog. I had to stop myself before I posted again, so I came here. I am getting another blog so that I can keep blogging like I have been. It’s terribly obsessive compulsive of me, but I am happy with my work.
I have a bunch of ideas to post on my dog blog, but I am fighting myself not to clusterblog it all. It’s tough being so verbose!

Upgraded to 2.3 WordPress
Yesterday I upgrade my WordPress. It was painless, thanks to my lovely one click install from Dreamhost. Some of my blogs I had to go and finish the upgrade myself … two more clicks but it was done. The only weird thing about it is in the little uploads archive is a bit wonky. The pictures that don’t have different sizes are preceded with an error code. Anyone else notice that with the Wordress 2.3? A few of my plugins are a bit displaced in the way they show up in the admin section, but it’s nothing I can’t overlook.

The “Erase Racism†Blog Carnival
I entered a post into the Erace Racism Carnival being hosted on ReadingWritingLiving. The submission count is so large, it had to be posted in two different posts. If you didn’t think racism existed, you will definitely see and understand that it is still alive and burning all over the world. Take the time to read and see what you can do to help erase racism.

The Day of Action & Carnival of Injustice
I am getting all kinds of comments, some insidious and some educated, about the Jena 6 issue. Some of them show that people are not looking at the whole story, but only jumping to conclusions bases on a small amount of information. It’s a shame that all that has transpired isn’t being taken into account. Many people seem to think that freeing the Jena 6 means they will get off without consequence, but that isn’t what we are rallying for…it’s for JUSTICE. Equal and fair justice.
I am still waiting for word on what DID actually occur in the courthouse yesterday, as there has only been mention of the march in Jena, Louisiana. I was just reading Justice in Jena site, and they have stories and video on what transpired outside the courthouse yesterday. I must say that I am rather pleased with the turnout, only wishing I was part of the throng.
In a way, we were…those of us who took the time to blog about the injustice.
The first carnival was a success. The next Carnival of Injustice is already shaping up well for the first Friday in October. The main focus will be injustices toward children. I am sure I will have plenty of entries for that.
Has anyone heard what actually happened in the courtroom yesterday?
