Got our taxes (some of them) back today. Glad that I can finally go shopping WHOOHOO. Ordered my Creative Knitting magazine today. That was a present from Christmas that Hubby just gave me. I have a ton of other things I have to do, pay on, and deal with but I am just glad we have it so we can get things done.We got back a bit more than we had been estimated to get, so that was a nice surprise, too.

The apartment in which I live is awesome. I love the space we have. The only things I would upgrade are the storage and having a place that I can carve out just for an office. I need one spot where I can have a number of filing cabinets, modern office furniture, computers, phones, and nothing but the things I need to focus on when I work. It’s rather distracting to have the television going, the kid running around in circles, and the dog sniffing around for food all the time. I love working at home, but sometimes it is just nice to have that one spot that you can call your work zone.

My mother in law was just asking me about something for her VOIP phone. I didn’t know what to tell her, so I thought I would take a look around the net and see what, if anything, I could possibly do to help. One site that piqued my interest was Talkswitch. Now I know that they have solutions for small business owners as far as phone systems go, but they do carry a good number of different phones that cater to businesses as small as two people.

Personally, my husband and I have a small business that we run from our home. We would truly benefit from a double line calling system that doesn’t require another phone number or my having to get off the internet to use it. The Voice Over Internet Phones that they offer could be right up our alley. My all time favorite product, though, has to be the headsets for the phone. I can’t tell you the number of times I have needed my hands free to do something and not wanted to be on speaker phone due to background noise (i.e. my son). The possibilities for productivity are endless with a second line to put on hold AND a headset? My goodness…

Talkswitch offers service all across the nation and they offer dial tone service. Pretty good if you ask me. Not everyone will continue to serve up dial tone after a while. I hope that at least a few companies continue to keep it as an option for people who don’t want to upgrade to VOIP.

I am watching via theTV stream online. I just started watching like 20 minutes ago. Good stuff. The owner of SheFinds is there talking right now. It’s interesting how different people view building brand and business.

I seriously have to consider what it is that I am doing with all the blogs that I have right now. They all serve a purpose, but can that purpose be consolidated? I don’t know. Well, I guess I will listen to more of the streaming video and decide later.

This is so true, I had to blog it:

Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well.
William Shakespeare

With all the stuff that has been going down with Google, business, blogging, and such…. you are pretty much danged if you do and danged if you don’t.

I have been reading up a lot on the viability of such a business opportunity. I don’t really know if I want to crochet for profit officially. I am scared of the volume. I am also worried that the products will be hot to start with and then die down to nothing. I would be left with lots of product and no buyers. That has happened to me before. Enthusiastic beginnings with sad ends do not suit me. I have only one business venture that continues to pay out at this moment… but I really need to make some more income somewhere. Crochet takes a lot of time and care. Do I have the time to make such a commitment? If I start with many customers and orders, will that continue on? Will I make what my product is really worth? *sigh* Signs point to no on a lot of those counts… but I could try it just once and see what happens, right?

I just got finished printing statements from 2 different paypal accounts from the beginning of the year till now. I would recommend putting a reminder on your desktop or in your calendar to do this either monthly or trimonthly. Waiting till 9 months into the year will give you a headache. I just printed 20 pages front and back and now I have to go back through them to figure out who paid what when.

I think I already have a record of hosting and domain names somewhere else. I had begun to chronicle those things at the beginning of the year, but had not kept up with it. Record keeping has never been a strong suit for me. Well, not if I had to keep them in order.

I also had to go back and check on when I am to be renewing my hosting plan. It’s good to write these things down in a planner. My friend Deb says she keeps her notes at her desk. Every time she has a job, deadline, payment, or whatever she writes it down and therefore her records are set.

Desk calendars are good for that. It’s something I will definitely have to invest in for next year. It will help me with my business AND homeschooling records. Pay a little now so you don’t have to pay big later. It’s a good motto to live by.

I have officially launched my Bulletproof Network Advertising company. I have all kinds of information available online and for PDF download. Make sure you take a look at that page and my blogs to see if you are interested in getting some advertising on one of them. I enjoy writing reviews for products, service, and websites in general.

When I went to college I studied web design, writing, communications, and advertising. I also studied writing, advertising, and communications in high school. Since then, I have had my hand in some form of one or all of those niches. I love it. I love being able to put my passion into what I write. That’s why I believe my services are so valuable. I know what I am doing, and I do it with feeling.
