I have checked out a few other places for my son to go for his career. So far, I found one place that does their interviews in Cranbury. We have an appointment there sometime next week, so I am hoping that it is copasthetic and everything works out. The interview is free, but there are conditions as with anything. I won’t find it all out until we get there. It’s an hour and a half away. I would rather know the details BEFORE I go and waste my time. *sigh* At least gas doesn’t cost as much as it used to, even though it’s still not that cheap.

OK so I call back today to find out if the scout from yesterday was interested in a call back for my son. I was also interested in the school thing, as he would do great there. Well, they lied. There was no scout from Disney or Nickelodeon. There was only this audition to be in their school, which my son did get a call back for… It still wouldn’t be a problem except that they want me to come up with $1000 TODAY to put him in the school.
Uh
No
So she says they have a less expensive program not in the package that is ONLY … get this only…
$600 down TODAY.
Yeeeeah… aiight. Not happening.
SO I have decided to take it upon myself to find him an AGENT that doesn’t require money up front and only takes their percentage for doing their job. That’s what an agent should do, anyway. They don’t get paid unless you get paid.
Be warned. If anyone ever calls you and says they are from an place that does talent scouting, make sure they are not just a school. Get your own agent or be your own agent. Otherwise, you will end up with a long day full of expectations that boil down to absolutely nothing.

Being in business for yourself, it’s good to have lots of different options for people to make payments to you. I have always heard of problems with people doing trade shows and such and not being able to take credit cards. In the world we work and live in, it’s imperative to have business credit card processing that is mobile and reliable. So much business can be lost through that one oversight. I recommend trying a service to see if it is what you need. Many of them have a free trial period so you can test and see if you would like to keep the service. It is worth the extra effort to do research into what type of transactions you will most likely be processing and comparing that with the service you are looking into. Make sure that the service has a lot of free useful features to take advantage of with your membership. Most importantly, take into consideration the cost against your potential for earning. You will be happy you did.

It’s getting pretty overwhelming to keep up with my finances and taxes. I wish there was an easy financial consolidation software that would just tell me what I made from where and how much tax I am expected to pay on it. *sigh* I have to download all my records from PayPal to my computer and sort it myself. It’s rather frustrating. I don’t have hours of time to do things like this. Any suggestions? I can’t keep up with my spreadsheets. I always forget!

One of my dreams is to own a home in my favorite parts of the world. I would really enjoy figuring out where those favorite places are. From what I can tell, Las Vegas condos would be a good investment. Investing in real estate is always a hot activity. It is a mutual dream of mine and my husband. We still want to get into flipping houses for profit in the foreseeable future.
Eventually I would love to go there and tour the different styles of homes available. If we still only have our one child I could probably invest in one of the Lofts in Las Vegas. They are rather pretty. I could get it for a personal hang out when one of us just needs time away, too. Every couple needs space some time.
Even though I have never thought of myself as a high maintenance person, I do like nice things. That is where I get my infatuation for High Rise condos. The views from those bay windows are breathtaking. I have always been a lover of heights and beautiful landscapes. I take so many pictures now, I can imagine how many more I would take from those windows. I am not big into gambling or going out every night, so this would be my favorite pastime.
So tell me, what would you do in Vegas?

I don’t talk a whole lot about who I work with/for on my blog. I think it’s worth mentioning that PayPerPost has just received $7 million more dollars in venture capital funding for their project. It’s a shame that PPP has yet to be in the black with their company being so successful. The controversy that others have drummed up over the last few months has only fueled the PPP fire. With nearly thirty thousand bloggers in their system, they are the largest growing blog advertising firm on the Internet.
There have been a number of growing pains, especially recently. Anyone can see that a company that expands this quickly will have its share of ups, down, and coding disasters. Luckily, the posties *as the bloggers are called* are not running away from adversity or because of the problems…and neither are the investors. They all see the potential that this medium has. They can see that blog marketing is here to stay. I am happy to be part of the movement and part of PayPerPost as they grow by leaps and bounds in their niche market.
In honor of their new funding, PayPerPost has been running the Lucky Duck promotion. This allows bloggers a chance at a prize opportunity that pays anywhere from $7.70 to $700. Every opportunity has a payout with a 7 due to the $7 million dollars they received. This very post is one of the prize opportunity requirements. The way it works is: you keep a wary eye out for the prize opportunity that says “You Lucky Duck”. Be the first to click “take opportunity” and you might just be the winner of $700. The opportunity list will tell you how much the Lucky Duck is worth to you. Just another genius move by Ted Murphy to get the word out about his product and what they have to offer advertisers and bloggers alike.
There is more information about the new investors behind the cut.

I was thinking about our business ventures of late. I really would like for us to be able to get into real estate like we have planned. It’s always been a dream of my husband’s to be able to buy and fix houses, then sell them at a markup. It’s a profitable business once you get into it. The problem is the capital and credit to start. Hopefully, we will find a partner with the capital and credit so hubby can get into his construction groove and finally be content with the direction of his professional life.
