Sorry for the lack of update since Mother’s Day. I had no power yesterday.
So, what did I get for Mother’s Day? My son DID make it the best Mother’s Day ever. But then, what is a Mother’s Day without the ones who made you a mother to begin with? I finally unwrapped the present he made me at church the other day. It was a gorgeous little snow globe with his picture (when he had long hair) inside. I have it on top of my television. He also made me a flower pot with flowers that will not die. He had been so upset by the fact that my other flowers died, that he was all too happy to give me something that will last forever. My sis in law gave me a cute shirt and some bath/body stuff. My MIL gave me a red rose and a gift certificate to Red Lobster. My mother gave me twin eggplants dressed like babies! Oh she is hilarious. My baby sister gave me a gorgeous flower that will continue to bloom through the season. The Man gave me time, which is a luxury anymore. He works ALL the time and it’s amazing he was able to stay with me for even a few hours.
What did I do?
I ended up going to Red Lobster for lunch with my in-laws. I wasn’t going to go, since no one had informed that the kids weren’t allowed to go and I had nowhere for my son to be. Even if I had known in advance, I still wouldn’t have had an option. They said he could come, so I went. I wasn’t worried about any diet pill reviews that day. I had my fill of scallops & shrimp before heading over to my cousin’s house. The theme: seafood! There were crabs, crab cakes, shrimp, and plenty of desserts. I don’t know how I put away more food, but I did. My fave that day was no bake cheesecake with strawberries slathered all over the top. Talk about GOOD.
PS. I hate flourescent lights. They leave motion trails and make people look demonic, but here are the pictures nonetheless. Read the rest of this entry »

Through a series of random events, my husband finally got his long awaited promised promotion today. He is finally getting what they told him he would have over a year ago. I am so happy for him and proud of him! It is just in time for a lot of things we are planning to do. I am just excited! The funny part is that he was just about to put in his application at another place when the call came in this afternoon. YAY for my honey! I am glad that the Lord works the way He does. I can’t give all the details of how it happened, but God moves behind the scenes and it all works out for good for those that love Him & are called according to His purpose.

Well the only thing I asked God for on my birthday was no rain till my day was over, and I got it. Thanks God!
I had a great day. I spent the first part of it with my husband. Even though he had to work, spending time with him was a great gift. Then, we went to my mother’s house. My mom had to pick up my baby sister, so we went with her. From there, she bought me a boston creme cake and all the fixin’s to make shrimp & broccoli linguini alfredo. Talk about delicious! I got my free Coldstone birthday ice cream *Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip* in a chocolate dipped waffle cone *drool*.
When we arrived back at my mother’s house, we all celebrated with dinner and a movie. My mom said she would keep the Kid if I wanted to go see my nephew at church. I ended up staying for the entire youth service. Talk about awesome! My nephew is doing so great. I am blessed to be able to see him flourish like he is. The youth are awesome. I miss working with them there..*sniff, sniff*.
After that, I headed back to my mom’s to cut my cake and race my husband home *lol*. We arrived back home about 5 minutes after he got in the door and about 10 minutes after it started to rain. Thus ended my birthday.
I had a great time! Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. You are all awesome and I am blessed to have you as friends!!!
I didn’t know if I would make it this far, but I am all too glad to be sitting here today at the lovely round age of :

I am planning on going to the new church today. I wonder if they will have popcorn machines set up in the back for snack while people watch the play. It does seem like that church would think of something like that, though. Church doesn’t start for another 2 hours and I could be asleep, but I am not. I have already been up for over an hour.
My family is having Easter dinner at my cousin’s house. His family at his mother’s house. I am probably going to make an appearance at my cousin’s while he makes one at his mother’s. Then we will come back here and be done with Easter festivities.
Happy Resurrection Day!

We made it in plenty of time to enjoy all the fun they had planned for the day. I was really surprised at how they went all out to make sure the kids had a memorable day. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera 2 years in a row *doh!*
Everything was scheduled out to a T. The kids were split into age groups for everything. There were presentations, the story of Easter, egg races, relay races, the egg hunt *of course*, food, a movie, and prizes. The only thing missing was a giant trampoline.
Taz found 15 eggs, I think…most of which had candy he is allergic to *doh!*. He also got a prize egg which meant he got a gift certificate for a free side order at KFC. He loves their mashed potatoes so I guess that will be his prize.
The church is a good size and they have a great kids program that lasts until they are 12 years old, then they switch over to youth group. I am excited to see what they have for tomorrow. We are going back and I am hoping that it cements the foundation that they laid today. I believe we may have found our church.

FINALLY we can get to this party and breathe a minute or two before the next big holiday or birthday. My son’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party almost wasn’t. There were NO decorations to be found…not even just green ones! I thought I was going to have to buy some liquid latex and make my own!
I tell you, between getting some latex and printing out my own little characters, I was about to make a party that was all my own creation. I would have taken a cake pan in the shape of the turtle, poured in the liquid latex, and made some interesting stand up decoration. I would have taken another cake pan and made some neat little latex take home party favors. I just would have to keep them away from my baby sister, since she is allergic to latex.
Im sure I could have used it to make some interesting party balloons of some sort, too. I didn’t know WHAT I was going to do. Finally, my mother came through for me and found a heap of stuff at this one store that I adore. I bought the stuff on the phone, she picked it up, and now I am waiting for her to bring it to me so I can go decorate. So excited about this party! But believe me, I will keep that liquid latex in mind if I ever come up with another dilemma like this one. I am just thanking God for my mom right now…but then, I always do.
So I bought the rest of the party supplies this morning *chips, pretzels, more soda* and so I hope and pray that I have enough for these ravenous people LOL!

My son turned 5 today and I took him on a lovely adventure. Everything was a surprise.
Daddy showed up with a remote control helicopter…the one he has been seeing on television and wishing for FOREVER. He was disappointed that he couldn’t play with it outside as it was raining, but he got to spend some time with his dad before he had to go back to work.
Then it was MY turn to take him and have a good time!
First we went to Toys R Us so he could get his birthday King crown and balloon. He also used his gift card to buy toys he wanted. He was very calculated in his thinking and ended up with 3 toys he is very pleased with …in 20 minutes! I thought we would be at least an hour.
Then we headed over to the bowling alley. We both did the first game together. It was his first time bowling. He got one strike and scored a 75. The second game he did 1/2 by himself then he got tired. He had a 38 and then we finished up his last few frames.
Next we drove over to Bob Evans to get some grub, where my sisters and mom joined us late into our dinner to have a mini surprise party. He had just asked me if he could go visit them, then they showed up. We went to their house to finish up our birthday fun.
It was awesome. He was so happy! All in all a fabulous day.
Happy birthday, my sweet boy!
