I have been watching this movie every year since it came out. I love it. I used to watch it every day when I was on break at my job. It would always be right where I left it. I don’t know what it is that captures me. Maybe it’s the whole move from believing to not believing that I went through as a child. It just really makes for an interesting journey through pieces of my childhood. I remember when I believed in magic and Santa, the Easter Bunny and the ToothFairy. These are things I don’t ascribe to now, nor do I teach my son these figments. I mean, I tell him about them, but only so that he doesn’t ruin other people’s good time. It comes on tonight so I am going to watch it again. *joyful Christmas feelings floating around me*

I love Johnny Depp. His roles are as different as fingerprints. I admire him for his prowess as an actor and his ability to choose well suited roles for himself. I have seen close to every movie the man has ever made. Picking two of my favorites is the hardest thing to do, but if I had to choose I would go with Once Upon A Time in Mexico and his body of work in Pirates of the Carribean.  Just to show you the range of his roles here is a quote from the first movie. He is an agent trying to get rid of the problems in Mexico. He was in the bar drinking tequila and at the end of his explanation for wanting to kill the cook he says:
Help keep the balance by pulling the trigger.

His line of reasoning is so convincing you nearly want to go and kill the cook for him!

Another show of his logic is rather contrasting to the one you picture above. It’s his way of speaking as Jack Sparrow: Me? I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly… stupid.

Of course, he is referring to Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom) being the honest and therefore stupid one. It’s almost too much to bare!

I would have to say that my favorite of the two would be the Pirates trilogy. He is Jack Sparrow through and through on each movie, never missing a beat. You almost forget that he is Johnny Depp.

Now he has another movie to add to one of my favorites (I hope). He plays a demonic barber who kills for revenge. For more information you can visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site or visit Sweeney Todd on Myspace. It looks like an interesting movie. He SINGS in it!! I was just listening on Myspace. What do you think about his new movie?

I had a sublimely happy and tranquil “marriage rejuvenation” and “self reflection” time this weekend. The only thing that would have made it any better is if we one of those home theater popcorn machines with cheddar cheese popcorn. Hubby and I watched a good number of movies these last few days. I was ecstatic when he said he wanted to watch Romeo + Juliet. He rarely watches movies like that with me. We are more of an action and comedy couple.

This new movie looks like another one filled with hilarity. It reminds me a lot of the Napoleon Dynamite movie, which I LOVE. At first, I didn’t know what the movie would be about. You have to love a movie that shows adolescence in such a fun way. These kids are so much like those that I have known in my own life. I think it’s great that they get some time in the limelight through proxy.

The movie doesn’t come out till August 17th and is rated R, but that won’t stop us from going to see it. That’s what the babysitter is for :P My husband and I are both into this brand of comedy. It was a must see for us from the moment we saw the very first teaser.

You can check out exclusive clips of Superbad on the official site. You should also make it a point to go to YouTube today and watch all five of the Superbad clips they will have there. It’s a featured special for August 1st only. I know I am going to head over there and join in the fun. So far, I have only watched the preview that they have posted there, and I am splitting my sides laughing. This movie will end being one of the most frequently quoted this season.

Yesterday was a great day due to a series of fortunate events. At first, it really didn’t look like it would be that eventful. I mean, we got to my father in law’s just to find out that my sister in law wasn’t coming down. My father in law was an hour away at a doctor’s appointment, and we were relegated to chatting with the old man from across the way. We decided not to wait for my husband’s parents to come back, so I suggested we head to the mall.

My husband bought me The Ultimate Matrix Collection. I watched all the movies in a row already, but not the Animatrix. That one takes a lot of brain power to watch. I saw part of it on television one night, and fell into awe. I can’t wait to get a chance to watch all the revisted discs included in the set. Thanks to my loving hunky husby for spoiling me some more!

I am entering to win a Nintendo Wii or iPhone as I type. I just got wind of the contest. All you need to do to enter is add the DVDPlay new DVD rental widget to your website and cross your fingers. You can customize the widget to look better on your site, and there is an easy add interface that will allow you to put it on your website painlessly. You can see it on my own sidebar right now.

Here we are in 2007 and we are only just now getting news that Disney is making a movie with their first black princess. Dang, Disney! It only took you how long to introduce this one? She will be added in with the other Princesses. The movie is called the Frog Princess and is slated for sometime in 2009. Just as long as she doesn’t start out as a frog, I think I will be alright. I can’t wait to see what they do with it. I am picturing something like the animation from Aladdin since those are the cartoonists that have taken the task upon themselves.
