A simple run to the dollar store became a bit more complicated once I found out that they had NO chalk in the entire width and breadth of the store. I did pick up books for the Boy to jump start us into our easy summer program of learning. So I had to run ourselves from the relatively close dollar store all.the.way down to the Mart of Wal.
Their little pack of sidewalk chalk is totally overpriced. I can see $1.50, but not nearly $3. Their manuscript writing pads were ridiculous, too. They have some they call “2-3 grade” paper which has thinner lines than the 1st grade paper…and it costs a full dollar more. WHAT???
I guess I nearly wet myself when I saw the prices, cuz all of a sudden I had to use the facilities. Ergh. I ended up getting 2 packets of regular sized chalk (2 packs of 12 are now 72 cents each color or white) and deciding to just make copies of his manuscript paper at the library. It costs me less to make a full book of pages than it does to buy them already made.
At least Pe-psi was on sale *smh*.

It’s shaping up to be a great bunch going through to Vegas. I hope a lot of them can stay in for the actual competition. My favorite quote of Episode 3 is when Nigel said:
“there’s more pops in my breakfast cereal”
LOL !!! HILARIOUS! I am still watching the episode, so there might be more, but that one made me nearly fall out of my chair.

I am a joining junkie. I really have to stop joining so many things. I don’t know why I feel the need to keep joining all these things. I just don’t want to “miss out” on anything. I am on the ning network, too…mostly because I did that NaBloPoMo thing on my craft blog.
I have a project in the making called the Plastic Bag Rehabilitation Center.I just started it yesterday, so it’s just the bones of a pretty awesome website. I have it in my head, I just have to put it out in code and pictures.

My friend Amy has been talking about Eckhart Tolle books a lot this week. I find it rather ironic that the same book she recommended to me is one that pops up in my inbox today. I think I might just have to get A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose. I mean, it can’t just be coincidence that not more than 2 days ago she recommended I read it. I had no idea it was on Oprah’s book list till I looked it up, either. Funny stuff.

I went to my church’s women’s dinner this past Monday. I meant to tell you about it, so I am doing it now! The theme was transformation. The animal was butterfly. There were these cute little pretzel bites on everyone’s plate with a little gummy worm hanging out, representing the cocoon. Then there were all sorts of little sandwiches and treats shaped like butterflies, dirt pudding, and decorations. Everyone got a little homemade butterfly magnet.
We played games like who has the most unusual thing in their purse. I was the runner up! The person who won had a long water thermometer in her purse. Then we played purse scavenger hunt, which was interesting. We also listened to some inspiring preaching from the Diane who is a missionary to Kirlbati near Fiji. I got to fraternize with a lot of ladies from our church and a few other churches.
The food was fantastic, the coffee was good, tea was great. Company was magnificent. The whole thing was very well done. People got prizes for random things like bringing their Bible to the dinner. I received a gorgeous little teacup and saucer set for being there HAHA. I also got to take home lots of fruit and chicken salad *thanks Chris!*. So tasty. I had a great time and I look forward to hanging out with the women again soon!

I don’t know why I was surprised when I saw the term legal steroids. I mean, it had to happen sooner or later. Too many people were going down for doing steroids in sports. Something had to be done. I knew that athletes wouldn’t stand for not being able to use something many see as vital to their success. If they could convince the leagues that smoking marijuana helped them focus, it would be legalized in a heartbeat.
