I don’t know why I was surprised when I saw the term legal steroids. I mean, it had to happen sooner or later. Too many people were going down for doing steroids in sports. Something had to be done. I knew that athletes wouldn’t stand for not being able to use something many see as vital to their success. If they could convince the leagues that smoking marijuana helped them focus, it would be legalized in a heartbeat.

Oh this weather is not good for my knees. The other day it was like 40 degrees and tomorrow it will be 73!! Then there is rain, then it’s dry…UGH! STOP IT ALREADY! My knees are trading pain back and forth like a tennis match. It hurts to high heaven. Darn this Osgood Schlaters disease! Had it since I was 10 and it is STILL bothering me. I wish it would go away and stay away. Ay me, sad hours seem long!

I posted a new Meltdown podcast today. It’s about how some of us try to fit into the mold others have made for us, but we break trying to do that.

I have also added it to podshow.com so you can find it in a number of places. Itunes has it, as well.

They are trying to pass legislation that will allow parents to object to vaccines if they don’t want their child to get them. It would allow a well informed parent to say no to things like the chicken pox vaccine without a big hassle. I think it’s great. Some of those vaccinations are pretty contrived, and many of them have toxins in them that will mess up a child’s system. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day they attributed cerebral palsy symptoms to vaccinations early in life. If a child can get autism from them (which 2 of my friends have seen happen), that isn’t a far stretch. I already signed the petition since I am a NJ resident and believe in what they are doing.

The other day I was helping my mother in law figure out where to stay on her trip to Maryland. She is another person who is sick and needs constant watching. She has rheumatic fever. Well, anyway, she was scheduled for a doctor’s visit at a really good hospital in MD so we had to take a look through all the different hotels in the area for her to be able to rest before her appointment today. It was so hard to find something that didn’t cost an arm and a leg because of the high traffic tourist area she was near. Thankfully we found something that isn’t quite as nice as Hilton Head rentals, but good enough for what she wanted to pay and how far from the doctor she wanted to be. I am praying now that her test goes well and they can find out what else is wrong with her so she can start getting better soon.

I have posted *as of yesterday* a new episode of The Meltdown podcast. This edition is all about how mentally ill people deal with their children. This one is mostly about myself and my interactions with my own child as I deal with my mental issues. Check it out.

Getting old scares me more and more every day. Sure, this country takes better care of their elderly than many, but I can’t help but thing they can do better. The facilities that are out there purporting to do well for those in their care really need to take another look at their assisted living software and get with it. My grandmother lived in one of those places and it was TERRIBLE. The other wasn’t so bad. The first, well, I never wanted to visit because of the stench and utter lack of care. The second was better, didn’t have that smell…but they still had a few things that lacked. My brother in law was in one, too…after his surgery. It was the best that I have seen, but STILL had issues. I mean, every facility does, but there are certain fundamental things that should be covered…like waste disposal. I pray that I never get to the point where I have to be in one of those facilities…unless drastic improvements are made to the system by then.
