MY CAMERAAAA!!

I was taking video of my wonderful friend preaching on Friday night with my camera…it worked great. I continued on to take a few pictures of the night and after the next to last picture, the camera leaned over and the knob on top POPPED RIGHT OFF! It was like a bottle cap. It didn’t make a snapping sound, it just fell off. I was about to cry right there in the middle of service, which is only really appropriate when the preacher is not at a pause in his sermon LOL. So now I am here with nothing but a camera phone, wishing that I had my real camera fixed. :( It almost makes me want to switch up to sony cameras and see if they will last longer. I just got this one 2 Christmases ago, I believe. I have to look and make sure the warranty is still in effect so I can get a new one!

New pic of me

I am trying to come up with a new picture of myself because I don’t like the other ones anymore. This morning I decided to try with my braid out look and see if I liked it any better. What do you think?

BRAID OUT

Still no pictures

Well, my camera hates me a lot…so I can’t do Wordless Wednesday pictures and things like that unless I want to use the video/digital camera. I hate using it for pictures because what you see is what you get. Use the flash, you end up with a white picture and nothing distinguishable at all in it. Don’t use the flash, you might have a picture so dark you wish you just gave up on it. *sigh* I am thinking I might just get a digital frame to display the pictures I do have so I won’t be so depressed about not really being able to take any more nice pictures till we get a new camera. Anyone got one they would like to donate? I need something more than 3.2 megapixels that takes xD memory cards.

Craft Club: Oh what a tangled web we crochet

Oh yes! I have been busy busy busy this week. True, the online craft club has helped to spur me onward. Within 3 days I made a hat, a purse, and a cell phone case. I am now working on a scarf in a different color than the hat I just made.

Cell case cellycase (by SockMopTart) cellyclosed (by SockMopTart)

I also went and purchased 5 new skeins of yarn yesterday. All those, plus the ones my mother was so generous as to share with me, are here:

TEEHEE!!! If anyone has any good groups or tutorials for learning to crochet more complex patterns and such, please do share. I have the basics down, but now I want to tackle something more challenging.

Hobby Hunters: Reading books

So glad I have books to keep me company. I have just added a few to my reading list. I can’t wait to get them in-hand so I can begin the journey through the pages. I have decided against reading any more of “Buttercup’s Baby” (sequel to The Princess Bride). I read a few pages in and it totally didn’t grab me. So that one is out. I am going to try and read these:

  • Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen
  • Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
  • Lost in the Mirror by Richard A. Moskovitz
  • I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me by Jerold J. Kreisman
  • Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross
  • Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
  • Crispin by Avi

Avi is a childhood favorite author of mine. Wicked comes highly recommended from a friend. The I Hate You book is the predecessor to Sometimes I act Crazy, which I own and have already read. The others are just books I have an interest in reading for myself. I will probably end up reviewing the I Hate You and Lost in the Mirror books on my mental health blog. The others will more likely go here or my vox blog.
