Getting old scares me more and more every day. Sure, this country takes better care of their elderly than many, but I can’t help but thing they can do better. The facilities that are out there purporting to do well for those in their care really need to take another look at their assisted living software and get with it. My grandmother lived in one of those places and it was TERRIBLE. The other wasn’t so bad. The first, well, I never wanted to visit because of the stench and utter lack of care. The second was better, didn’t have that smell…but they still had a few things that lacked. My brother in law was in one, too…after his surgery. It was the best that I have seen, but STILL had issues. I mean, every facility does, but there are certain fundamental things that should be covered…like waste disposal. I pray that I never get to the point where I have to be in one of those facilities…unless drastic improvements are made to the system by then.

I was perusing the news about the Jena 6 and came across this interesting blog post. Worth the read, believe me.

Also, copycat noose hangings have been happening around the country. Is this the new age civil rights movements?

AND Mychal Bell has been released on bail.

The critical truth that they often fail to realize is that freedom of religion requires freedom from religion. How sad it is then to see the American military violating the religious freedom of our young men and women in uniform.”

Fortunately, there is an alternative approach to conflict resolution that has been demonstrated in Crisis Intervention Teams.”

I entered a post into the Erace Racism Carnival being hosted on ReadingWritingLiving. The submission count is so large, it had to be posted in two different posts. If you didn’t think racism existed, you will definitely see and understand that it is still alive and burning all over the world. Take the time to read and see what you can do to help erase racism.

Twenty-one people were possibly sickened by E.coli contaminated beef sold by Topps Meat. It’s a New Jersey based company and they are apologetic. I just hope that most people have not become sick already. This is a sad world that we live in. Everything seems to be contaminated!

This is getting out of hand. It is starting to make me think that they are doing it on purpose. I can’t understand how so many toxic toys are making to our shores. I can’t be the only one suspicious of what’s been going on. I mean, seriously, how many times does it need to happen before we

A: get a clue
B: stop buying their toys
C: bring business back to the American workers

?

I am sick and tired of hearing the same old story every other week, it seems. How many children will have to die before they realize that the toxicity is affecting and should be stopped? Recalls are what they are, but we are all losing in the end.

Well Mychal Bell is NOT being released from jail. What I want to know is even though he isn’t being released, are they going to treat him fairly after all that has transpired? I don’t condone all charges being dropped, by any means…but I want justice to prevail. They have to say something more than he is being denied his freedom. Read the comments on that article, and you will see that someone outlined all the things that lead up to this Jena 6 issue. As I said before, the whole story isn’t being told.

Here is to equal justice for all.

I am getting all kinds of comments, some insidious and some educated, about the Jena 6 issue. Some of them show that people are not looking at the whole story, but only jumping to conclusions bases on a small amount of information. It’s a shame that all that has transpired isn’t being taken into account. Many people seem to think that freeing the Jena 6 means they will get off without consequence, but that isn’t what we are rallying for…it’s for JUSTICE. Equal and fair justice.

I am still waiting for word on what DID actually occur in the courthouse yesterday, as there has only been mention of the march in Jena, Louisiana. I was just reading Justice in Jena site, and they have stories and video on what transpired outside the courthouse yesterday. I must say that I am rather pleased with the turnout, only wishing I was part of the throng.

In a way, we were…those of us who took the time to blog about the injustice.

The first carnival was a success. The next Carnival of Injustice is already shaping up well for the first Friday in October. The main focus will be injustices toward children. I am sure I will have plenty of entries for that.

Has anyone heard what actually happened in the courtroom yesterday?
