Ever see these ads for Christian debt consolidation and mortgages? Does it bug you as much as it does me? If Jesus Himself turned over the tables in the temple because the moneychangers and vendors were turning the temple into a den of robbers, what makes organizations think it’s okay to promote themselves in this manner?
How do I know that you are who you say you are? How do I know that you really do have my best interests at heart? How can I see that you aren’t just playing on the plight of those around you who happen to identify themselves as Christians?
It’s up to each man to judge for himself, but generally I tend to stay away from any money making organization that touts themselves as a Christian anything…recently that has included churches. Go to the link, judge for yourselves as to whether or not they have the spirit of Christ in their dealings. Look up other sites like it, compare. Don’t commit yourself until you are sure.
I am just tired of people taking advantage of others in the name of Christ.

A bus driver got fired for flipping off Bush while driving a bus full of kids. Read the story. I know that this is not about the driver, it’s about the president. For years people have been complaining about the erratic behavior of bus drivers, and yet these people continue to drive the same buses year after year. One snide gesture and BOOM! Fired. So annoying is the world in which we live. Want some more to talk about?

Are you living in one of the fattest states in our great union? I was shocked by the sheer numbers on this map:
We have to do something about this. I am glad that I live in one of the leaner states, but I am considering moving to Colorado so I can learn their secrets. Seriously, though, obesity has become a real problem. I think we are spoiled. Look at our portions compared to those of, say, Scotland. We have so much liberty in everything that we overindulge on a regular basis. As they say, too much of anything isn’t good for you.

how ugly are you? hmm? admit it! on a scale from 1 to 10 how ugly are you? according to a site i am part of i am considered a 2.43 on the *beauty scale*. on another site i was considered no higher than a 5. Grand average of ugly: 3.715
the funny thing is that these arent sites like “hot or not”…i would never put my picture there… these are sites where random people can come and say “omg what an oooogly beotch” and vote you down. Out of 46 votes, out of over 100 votes, it didn’t matter. i was still considerably ugly to people.
am i ugly? no…not by a long shot. what type of “beauty” were these peole looking for? what type of features did they consider to be beautiful? blonde hair and blue eyes seems to be the consensus for beauty…or exotic looking spanish people. i am neither of these… but i’m not ugly. i’m not even unpleasant looking. i don’t even make people wince a little when they look me in my face.
the standards of beauty are horrifically skewed.
i think it’s time to change.

no child left behind act
I was pondering this phenomenon: No child left behind… I keep finding evidence that refutes the idea that this act was passed for the greater good of all children.
I just heard on the news a day or so ago about schools being closed down and children being bussed to other schools. Over 60 teachers will be out of work. The class sizes in the schools are going from 19:1 up to 29:1. Even the children of the schools are outraged. One girl said that there will be more disruptions in class. How does a child learn with disruptions in class?
How is there no child being left behind when the schools are closing for lack of funding? The schools the kids were being sent to had no extra curricular activities. Why? Because the $17m referendum was voted down. In southern Jersey a school I used to attend has lost their brand new library and all extra curricular activities due to lack of funding. There are children being graduated that don’t know how to read or do basic math. How are they getting ahead?
The curriculum is getting harder for the younger children. They can’t even learn
the basics before they are slapped with advanced concepts. With all these kids that are “not left behind” going out into the work force with no skills and no hope of getting a good job, they are left to fend for themselves or simp off the government…the same government who swore not to leave them behind. As these kids grow, they get more violent and less active in the throws of positive society. What is left for them to do? The jails are already full of those who have been left to the dredges. Why are we throwing our children there before they even get a chance to understand what it means to be successful?
The schools are getting larger and larger. The teachers are at their wit’s end with the kids. There are children in sixth grade that still have not grapsed the concepts that were introduced in third grade. The amount of time spent in each class is not sufficient enough for each child to gain understanding of the subject before they are thrown to another subject. The time they spend in school per day is only rivaled by the amount of time parents/caregivers are spending trying to help these kids gain the knowledge they were unable to attain while in school. YES I’m talking about homework.
Even when I was in high school I took brain busting classes, spent hours after school with teachers, broke my back with a backpack full every night, just to spend more hours trying to get through a load of ho
mework assignments…most nights staying up until one or two in the morning. I was considered somewhat smart. How much more effort would it take for what is considered an average or mediocre student to understand the things that are thrown at them five days a week in school? The housing developments are becoming more and more prevalent. Each time one gets cleaned out of the vagrants, our government cultivates more vagrants to take their place.
How can we blame the children? Is it their fault that the classes were too large or underfunded to provide them a satisfactory education so they could become productive citizens?
And then I am asked WHY I am such an advocate for homeschool?
I refuse to allow my child to go through not being left behind because he was never picked up in the first place.

i get a chance to post this! my dad has been in the hospital all weekend due to complications with the after effects of radiation on his body. he is still there, expected to come back home tomorrow God willing. he was having chest pains and going in and out of deliriousness. he’s back to his good normal self now, but they wanna watch one more day due to a weird episode of his pulse shooting to voer 150 last night but today is below 90.
i have been running nonstip it seems cuz there is so much to do. will got his interviews yesterday and i got my transcript. the interviews went well, and we went to wendy’s to eat afterwards and he ended up getting a job offer for manager’s position which is hilarious since all we did was go there to eat. they make good money so we will see what happens with the other job and he will make his decision. im getting situated for school, but i ma having hte dilemma of finding a place for my kid every day for 4 hrs. so far he has to be 3 and potty trained, neither of which he will be when it comes time for school.

Abortion?: I think it should be illegal except for very extreme medical related exceptions. You shouldn’t be able to kill a baby just because you can’t be responsible. *nods*
Death Penalty?: I think it’s wrong and agree with Chrissy that prisons should be more like dungeons and less “humane” *nods*
Prostitution?: I think it should be regulated to protect the prostitute but not illegal. If a woman wants to make money having sex, that’s her business **adding that there have been prostitutes since the Bible days, ti wont change..at least get ppl protected from each other**
Alcohol?: I think the US is way too immature about alcohol with it’s constant need to get drunk to party. Am I the only one who can have a good time while sober? *nods*
Marijuana?: I think it should be legal but regulated. Though it’s supposedly less harmful than cigarettes so there you go *nods*
Other drugs?: Eh. I think the government makes more money from seizures with them illegal than it would ever make through taxation were it legal so it’s a moot point *nods*
Gay marriage?: this is one i have to answer myself. God says no, I say no. no civil unions no marriage. the Bible clearly states he created them man and woman for each other and He denounces men lying with men and women lying with women.
Illegal immigrants?: should be allowed with thorough background checks first
Smoking?: should be banned everywhere. *nods*
Drunk driving?: is awful and should be more harshly punished *nods*
Cloning?: absolutely not. Life is crazy enough already **adding, they dont really know what the outcome will be so why play with fire… you always get burned eventually**
Racism?: is retarded **and very stupid. we all look the same under our skin**
Premarital sex?: is retarded. I think any casual sex is stupid. Save it for a serious committed relationship and you won’t have to worry about STD’s or unwanted pregnancy
Religion?: **i dont really care about what religion you are, just dont come and bash me cuz you dont agree**
The war in Iraq?: ***just the birthpains…getting ready for the end.
Bush?: Is not so horrible as everyone thinks. *nods*
Downloading music?: Not a big deal. Shouldn’t be prosecuted. How about spending taxpayers money on more serious crimes *nods*
The legal drinking age?: should be younger. Maybe then it wouldn’t be such a big deal to drink *nods*
Porn?: *is addictive and they should have PVA porn viewers anonymous*
Suicide?: *no point to it although it seems like there is*
