It has been nearly ten years since my husband and I first met, nearly ten years since we were married. We have manufactured homes out of nothing but pure love for God, love for each other, and a dogged determination to make it through no matter what. We have traveled thousands of miles, ministered to thousands of people. We have braved the seas of parenthood and been so richly rewarded with our son that we cannot even express our gratitude for him. Today, I am thankful that God is a God of miracles. That He is a God of love and family. That He is the one who chooses who to exalt and who to humble. I praise Him for my life, my family, my present, and my future. I praise Him because of what He has done to take me out of the pit of Hell and lead me to everlasting paradise with Him. Thank you, Lord!

Getting ready for Women in Ministry Retreat!
OH BOY! I have a lot of thinking to do today just to be able to pack this little bag for 3 days and 12 hours of driving. We are heading up to Syracuse for the Pastor’s wives and Women in Ministry retreat. The conference center is gorgeous! I am anticipating that there will be a great time of love and breakthrough for all who attend. I am rooming with 3 women from our new church. I have to load up my mp3 player with all the stuff I want to hear while I am on the way and when I try to go to sleep. I am taking my favorite blanket and pillow for sleep on the way. I am conflicted about the actual clothing, but I know it’s going to be freezing up there, so I have to wear warm shoes.
They have free wifi all over, so this little beauty is coming with me so I can keep updating and also working. My work week kind of never ends. Wish I had the traveler’s guitar so I could practice at night before I go to bed, but alas, I don’t have one! Praying that my fingers stay read and capable for Sunday morning so I can play with the worship team again.
EXCITED! now off to get the rest of the laundry so I can start figuring out my clothes
PS Thanks to the person who decided to sponsor my trip. You are awesome and God is going to abundantly bless you!
Off to church today
Today we are headed to our new church. We have settled in pretty well at “home”, so we feel comfortable enough to make the journey. From Queens to the Bronx there are tolls and sometimes lots of traffic. Hopefully, there won’t be very much traffic so we can get there early. I hate being “on time” or late to things, especially church. The youth pastor won’t be there, but his wife will…so will a number of the kids we adopted when we last visited. This time we are here to stay. I wonder how different things will be now…
Prayer and anxiety attacks re: moving
So it’s official. Our notice of vacating the premises is in. We are moving by the end of this month. We are going apartment hunting this week. Today, we are looking at an apartment. I am having an anxiety attack because I am really nervous about getting a place to live. I am praying, of course, but my own human tendencies are making me worry and freak out. I just keep trying to tell myself PEACE be still.
Today is a huge day
I need prayer, but I cannot tell you why. All I can tell you is that this is a day that will either make or break our future. It will determine so much in just a few hours. Please pray that the outcome is agreeable. I am on pins and needles right now. I keep praying and praying and trying to calm my nerves. I am dropping everything, my hands are shaking!!! UGH! Anxiety rears it’s ugly head. I feel an attack coming on full throttle. We leave in another 2 hours. Please pray with us. Thank you all!!!
Grandmom in law & Mother in law update
My mother in law should be back on this side of the USA soon. She had a small procedure to remove the mass behind her lung and the liquid inside the lungs. Come to find out, that liquid was blood, not water. She is recovering well.
Grandmom in law’s surgery went well for her heart. They took 2 veins from her legs to put where the ones that were messed up in near her heart were. She, too, is recovering well. I get updates daily on her progress through the recovery process.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers and continued love for me and my family.
Found my electronic bible!
But it needs new batteries. I was always in the general area of the bible, but I never put it together in my head that the thing could have been inside my knitting case. Lo and behold, I go digging for knitting notions and find amongst the yarn my long lost electronic bible! YAY!! Thank the Lord! I really thought I was going to have to tell my sister in law that I lost her 100$ present. The last time I used it, it was while I was knitting (last winter), so I thought it was with my other notions. I mean, I only have like 3 places I put them. So glad that in digging a bit deeper into my knitting things I found it. I prayed more than once that I would..it was more of a constant prayer that it would be recovered. Thank you Jesus!
MIL still in the hospital
We went to visit my mom in law last night. Apparently, they have moved her but she is still on the pending surgery floors. The doctors are unsure as to whether or not they are going to just remove the spleen completely. It is causing her huge amounts of pain, but the blood counts look good so they think that the spleen is healed. She cannot walk very well right now, so the doctors are looking for improvement in that before they make a decision to pull the spleen or leave it. UGH! Waiting sucks. All she wants to do is to be able to go home and rest in her own bed, but I am glad that they aren’t rushing her out of the hospital. Pray for her and my father in law, who has been by her side most of the time. He is really worried about her. It’s so sweet…
