WHEW what a weekend! Saturday was my cousin Tag’s big wedding. He and his wife had been planning it for months. It went off an hour and a half late without a hitch, and everyone had great fun at the reception. Here are the pictures that I took, but I am waiting to snag more from other people as they upload them.
After the reception, we went to pick up my son at my in-law’s house, but stayed to chit chat with the Man’s brother & wife. We didn’t get back until around 3 in the morning. Then we set the alarm for 9 AM for church.
I was the first up, and got everyone else in gear to get to church. The Man stood for his blessing and prayers as well as his present. I didn’t get a picture of us up there because we were ALL up there LOL. After that, it was off to the Powwow, then we hi-tailed it to his parents’ house for the rest of the FaBirthday Festivities (his brother turned 38 yesterday).
We had so much fun, I can hardly tell you about it all.

How cool is this? Magic Cellar has made history being the only animated TV series in the entire world that has received the Gold World Medal. The award was given to the show on the 2nd of February in Ottawa, Canada. Funny how I just found out about this today. South African children are watching this and seeing themselves reflected on the screen. It’s the first time in history. Think about that…in this day and age that this will be the first time in animation ever for their eyes to behold. It’s sad. Sad that it has taken this long for something like this to surface. The story lines always have a moral. Good clean fun every time. I wish that I could see it for myself on our television. It’s always good for children to learn about different cultures that may or may not tie into their own backgrounds. There is even a spiritual aspect to the story lines. Go read the episode synopses and learn about the series. I think I will have to write them an email and let them know that their impact would be a greatly felt if it were to be released to the entire world.

I am in love with these figurines. I thought that the Nursery Rhyme were cute, but the Native ones are much better. They show Natives in a beautiful light. I would not be opposed to paying top dollar for
these figures to add them to my native collections. I am always looking for Native American Figurines that will fit my home. These are top notch. The detail is uncanny. Each and every feather is just so, the hairs and headdresses are perfectly formed. I couldn’t ask for a better representation of the proud heritage from which I spring. Good job guys.

I just received my turtle shell in the mail. I can tell you, when I opened the box, I was not quite ready for the surge of emotion that flooded me. I saw it and immediately pictured the poor creature who had donned that very shell. I nearly got sick to my stomach. I could smell the distinctive aroma of the turtle…one that I will never forget as it is part of my childhood. I kept a turtle when I was young and she was my greatest treasure till her tragic death.
The shell is beautiful and I am thankful to have it. It is just so weird to hold it in my hand without a living creature poking its head out to look at me.

I still haven’t made the snowmen with my son, but I have my week planned already. I have to do everything last minute *shopping and cooking* because we don’t get paid till Thursday the 21st. I have a whole party to get together on the last crazy days before the holiday. I also have to get my Pollyanna presents together. I just closed out the gift exchange on www.secretsanta.com so everyone has their email about who they are getting for the exchange. I dunno…maybe I’m insane thinking I will get all this stuff done in 3 days. BUT crazier things have happened. I planned and executed a wedding in 4 days so why not a small dinner party?
Today I barely cleaned, I did cook. My son went to bed at 9 because he was exhausted. Think I will start posting under FUN STUFF about random facts and stuff that I think are interesting.
I have a new journal on http://www.kingzjewel.com that will be taking over my heritage posts and whatnot. Keep it on your bookmarks or RSS because there is some good stuff coming…
*lots of ex– words tonight* and I shall now exit stage left on this post HAHA
Love you all!!!

What has everyone been doing? Has anyone decorated their tree yet? Have you started buying gifts for Christmas?
We kind of did start but we still have to get a tree and decorations for the tree and the house. My parents are coming over with the rest of my side for Christmas. I am so excited!!
My son got a video game and is learning the wonders of the first Nintendo games like Duck hunt * wink * and super mario brothers.
I’m so sleepy I could cry. Ah well, that’s what happens. On to prep for a stress free Christmas.

I am DOWNGRADING my autometa plug-in cuz the new one is all screwy and makes 1/2 the post into keywords. How annoying!
Secondly, I am looking for a 4 or 5 megapixel camera, probably a Kodak, with video and sound capabilities for 100$ or less. Any suggestions? I was looking at the CD40. I dunno, I just know that I need more than 1.3 Mpxs. It’s very annoying to get blurry shots and I am a photographer at heart.
