URGENT PRAYER NEEDED: MIL

My mother in law is in the hospital right now getting surgery on her stomach. Something ruptured. Don’t know much else, but please pray. I will let you know more when I can. Thank you all and God bless!!!

Break out

I am breaking out of my former self. I have to, else die. I have to break out and become free once again. No more covering my blemishes with the bandaids of denial. No more spot treating disobedience with the acne cream of fear. I have to surrender all and do what I know is right. That might make a lot of people angry, but the answer is no plainer than the nose on my face. God is moving. He is moving so swiftly, so surely, that I must follow. Keep me in your prayers as I continue on the path He is laying before me. It won’t be easy, but it is His will and I am happy in knowing I am safe there.

Busy weekend: Wedding, Powwow, Father’s Day, & a birthday

WHEW what a weekend! Saturday was my cousin Tag’s big wedding. He and his wife had been planning it for months. It went off an hour and a half late without a hitch, and everyone had great fun at the reception. Here are the pictures that I took, but I am waiting to snag more from other people as they upload them.

After the reception, we went to pick up my son at my in-law’s house, but stayed to chit chat with the Man’s brother & wife. We didn’t get back until around 3 in the morning. Then we set the alarm for 9 AM for church.

I was the first up, and got everyone else in gear to get to church. The Man stood for his blessing and prayers as well as his present. I didn’t get a picture of us up there because we were ALL up there LOL. After that, it was off to the Powwow, then we hi-tailed it to his parents’ house for the rest of the FaBirthday Festivities (his brother turned 38 yesterday).

We had so much fun, I can hardly tell you about it all.

Another day, another day

Yeah I have nothing clever to put into the title today. It’s library this morning and church tonight. I don’t know if the Man will go to his class tonight or not. He probably will, since he is off work. I was wondering if he would want to take his son, too. I kind of hope not. He would miss church and it’s a mighty long evening for him *and me* if we all go tonight. Besides, I think 3 days a week is PLENTY for my son to be in jiu jitsu and have to pay attention. I like to break it up with other things like church and the library.

Unfortunately, he is graduating out of the library class this summer since he is 5 now. The next thing I will be looking into is the summer day camp program at our church. I think it’s free but they collect offering every day they are there. So I will have to figure out how much I can give since they are going to be taking care of my son during half the day and reinforcing what I am teaching him about God at home. That alone is priceless, to me.

Church was good

So we did attend church yesterday. It was really good. I enjoyed the pastor. He reminds me of one we had a few years back, but with more gusto. The people were still very nice. I saw a few people from our own neighborhood. We attended early enough that we both got to go to the Sunday school before church started. He had a blast. I was happy to find other people that are adults to talk to HAHA. One of them homeschools like I do. She is on her last of 4 children.

They finished the play they started the other day about Jesus and the 3 days to resurrection. It was pretty good. They worked well with what they had. My son was excited to see Jesus was risen, but then he was bolting for the door. He isn’t used to sitting in church like that. He is used to having kids church. Since it was Easter Sunday, all the kids were in the sanctuary. Next Sunday he will have a better time, I am sure.

I see places in the church that I could be of use, too. They seem to need some more people for their worship team. I found myself wishing that I could be more like a wall sconce of the church. Pretty on the wall, no one really notices, and serving a silent function. The way God has made me, though, that would never happen. I am always looking for the places I am needed in the church with my specific gifts. I am just waiting on the Lord to lead me to the places He wants me to be. So far, He has called me to this church. God only knows what’s next.

Good times at church

We made it in plenty of time to enjoy all the fun they had planned for the day. I was really surprised at how they went all out to make sure the kids had a memorable day. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera 2 years in a row *doh!*

Everything was scheduled out to a T. The kids were split into age groups for everything. There were presentations, the story of Easter, egg races, relay races, the egg hunt *of course*, food, a movie, and prizes. The only thing missing was a giant trampoline.

Taz found 15 eggs, I think…most of which had candy he is allergic to *doh!*. He also got a prize egg which meant he got a gift certificate for a free side order at KFC. He loves their mashed potatoes so I guess that will be his prize.

The church is a good size and they have a great kids program that lasts until they are 12 years old, then they switch over to youth group. I am excited to see what they have for tomorrow. We are going back and I am hoping that it cements the foundation that they laid today. I believe we may have found our church.
