Time to confess our latest news

SOOOO the big news is that we moved… We have been gradually settling into our new 2 bedroom apartment *which is the top part of a house* in Long Island. We are still urban missionaries, so this move makes this our *temporary* home. My permanent address is still NJ because I know that we will go back there eventually, and that is where our ministry base is located. Like so many missionaries, the mission field is the place they minister but home stays home no matter what.

We have a lovely master bedroom, a large child’s bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room. There is enough space to put a dining room table, tho there is no official dining room space. We have a bathroom with a shower *no tub* and not quite enough space to put a bathroom vanity, but spacious enough to make it look nice.

We have been here officially for about a week and a half. So far, I have updated the deco here, but we have some serious work to do later on such as replacing countertops and flooring in the kitchen. Hubby is also going to be pulling out paneling in our bedroom and replace it with the beauty of white sheet rock *lol*.

Oh and I heard from the publisher this morning… 2 weeks till I find out whether or not they are publishing my book. I announced that on Facebook already, but this is for all those who are not on facebook :P

ANNNNND We are both enrolled in NYDSOM .. NY District School of Ministry and will be credentialed with the Assemblies of God by the end of the year!

Feasting with the ‘rents

It’s a shame that I won’t have my camera till later this week *I hope* because tonight would have been a fantastic night to try it out. My parents, sister, and her boyfriend all came over for the belated T-day feast. We had a great time. My son was being himself, like always, and making everyone laugh. My niece was here for the first time. She seemed to be comfortable just relaxing in the living room. We had cake, sweet potato pie, turkey, mashed potatoes, greens, cabbage, corn, cookies, and gravy. Everything turned out so well. I am really happy that they got a chance to come over and spend a few hours with me. They left around 9:30pm.

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!

On an iDiet

Many people will gasp when they read that I am on any sort of diet. It isn’t the kind of diet in which you need special foods, diet pills, or an exercise plan to succeed. This is an iDiet… meaning that I am doing my best not to go spend all my time on the internet. I am trying to find more ways to spend quality time with my son and husband…as well as with myself. Yesterday I didn’t get online at all. Today, I have to catch up with work and things but yesterday was a great day to be offline. I am hoping to do it again this coming Monday, at least for the most part if not all day. We are planning a trip to Chuck E. Cheese as a surprise for our son doing so well in pretty much everything.

He is back :D

Well my Man finally made it back home from Puerto Rico last night. He has over 100 pictures on his cell phone. I have presents!!! I got a key chain sea turtle with a Puerto Rican flag on the back and I got the tea set back that we sent to Mami Hilda not too long ago. I have these lovely yellow muffins (that I can eat two full bags of and still want more) straight from PR. I have taken pictures with my like new Samsung 6.0 megapixel camera that my baby sister gave me after getting another one. Good stuff. I have to upload them. If anyone knows where I can find the actual transfer cord for ans s630 I would appreciate the info. Apparently, every time we have ordered the supposed cord *3 times* none of them fit! They are like a nanometer off or something. It’s crazy.

Hubby got a few other things like little knicknacks for the house and a gorgeous picture of Jesus from his grandmother’s house. He also got to take a number of photos she had in her private collection. Amazing to see him growing up in those pictures.

We are still planning a trip for 2 weeks in April. I can hardly wait.

Grandmom in law is gone

After a promising recovery show, my grandmother in law passed over this evening. I knew something didn’t feel right today. Something was just totally off. I couldn’t get my mind right to do anything. I was completely discombobulated. I got myself together just enough to make a mediocre dinner and whisk my child off to church services tonight. The call came in around 8pm.

So now, it is with a heavy heart, I release my last remaining grandmother to God. Yes, she was my grandmother by marriage, but she had a heart of gold. No one could say that she was anything but a beautiful, genuine person. She loved me like her own. She and my son couldn’t understand each other’s words very well, but they both spoke the language of unconditional love. He is angry and questioning why this had to happen. My husband is beside himself with grief. I am trying my best to keep my brave face on so I can hold my family up to God. There weren’t complications, so this is completely unexpected. I am sure that my father in law is having a fit, himself, since she was his mother whom he loved fully and completely.

We all still love you Mami Hilda. You are always going to be the epitome of awesome. No one on this earth will ever make rice like you did, although I have gotten pretty close. Thanks for handing me the secret! We all know that you are now relaxing in Paradise. Say hi to my grandmother and Miss Wendy for me.

Grandmom in law & Mother in law update

My mother in law should be back on this side of the USA soon. She had a small procedure to remove the mass behind her lung and the liquid inside the lungs. Come to find out, that liquid was blood, not water. She is recovering well.

Grandmom in law’s surgery went well for her heart. They took 2 veins from her legs to put where the ones that were messed up in near her heart were. She, too, is recovering well. I get updates daily on her progress through the recovery process.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and continued love for me and my family.

Mother in law back in the hospital

Got a call late last night that my mother in law is in the hospital with a blood clot or re-ruptured spleen…in PUERTO RICO >_< ... We need your prayers, especially since none of us can just drop our lives and fly to PR any time soon. She and my father in law were due back in USA proper this Thursday coming. Now, I don't know what is going to happen.

UPDATE (5:25pm) they found water in her lungs and a mass behind her ribs. they may have to operate. there is no more bleeding or clots, but they found those things and a severe bladder infection.
