I had purchased a guitar before this one on a popular auction site for about $25 dollars before we made this purchase. It was a “test” guitar. Sidenote: I highly recommend that people who want to play guitar get a cheaper test guitar first, to make sure that a future investment would be worth it. I LOVED playing. I picked it up so quickly.

It’s in my genes, though, as my father has been a guitar player since he was 18 years old. He was self taught, as am I. It was only in recent years that dementia stole his ability to play guitar. Before that even happened, he had already given me his prize red electric blues guitar as a gift to our ministry. He saw the blessing that God has bestowed upon me for playing guitar and rending hearts with God’s words. He was able to be there when I was allowed to minister at a rather large venue in worship. That sealed the deal for him. He would NEVER have let me touch his guitar before, but that day changed his mind about everything. He has been a huge blessing to me and our ministry ever since.

That’s why I play with passion. There is so much that goes into even one song, whether it be my own or one that is written by someone else. My father’s love for me and my ministry, my experiences in life, the fact that I was once told I was not allowed to lead worship because I didn’t know how to play guitar, and the blessings that God has bestowed upon me have all spurred me on to this very day. I am not the BEST guitarist in the world, by far. I don’t play awesome riffs and get all rockstar with my playing. What God has shown me is that it’s not really what you play on a guitar, but how you play it. If it’s filled with His spirit, it always sounds like Heaven on earth.

Still, knowing allllll that, I could go to sleep right now and nap until hubby gets back for lunch at noon! AUGH!

My pregnancy is also something on our minds. It hasn’t been easy. The baby is great, it’s my body that’s the problem. I am not built to be a great baby incubator. I just hold together barely long enough to get the job done. I am still on rest and unable to do all that I wish to do. I haven’t felt the greatest. The bed and I are fast friends most days.

Thanking God that our son is okay. He has become more of a man in the last few weeks than I would have imagined at this stage. He has become very outspoken. There is NO hair on his tongue! You can’t reprimand a child when he is RIGHT.

Just keep our family in prayer.

My son got coal first and was shocked … we got video LOL then he thought that was really his only present so he says ” okay well i will use these as boulders for my lego people” and starts to walk away! LOL What a grateful child. (Video here) He got a bunch of legos, video games, and movies. He got a nano bug, and the new wimpy kid book. I had my phone from a while ago. Hubby got a new wallet from us & I sang him his favorite song while playing the guitar: ave maria. The reactions to the presents were priceless. Hubby has a full length video.
