My friend Kat pointed me in the direction of a parenting site that reminds me of Digg. It’s all user voted content, but it’s about parents. I am just getting started on Babblz as of today.

I like the layout and the color of the site *it’s purple* I have been over there reading and am loving finding other parents who are on the Internet. I think I will be finding more to say here thanks to the ideas and articles over there. Go see for yourself :D

I nearly forgot to tell you. I kept looking up the office with Google and for some reason or other, the computer kept freezing! It was like a sign from God. Google’s local search is usually pretty quick and reliable. I get all my info from them about distance, time, and phone numbers…sometimes even websites for the business I am looking up. I think I might start searching around for another way. It is hard to check out local advertising in our area since most of it seems to be on the down low. This area isn’t that big or commercial, so it isn’t that hard to understand the reason why. There are a ton of businesses in our area, though, and the bridge is right there. I am forever looking for businesses that can give me the services or products that I need without having to go an hour or more away from my house. It gets frustrating. I hope that more smaller businesses in our area look into marketing themselves online. It’s way more effective than just trying to get it out there by word of mouth, especially for someone like me who doesn’t get out very often.

Look what I received via UPS today:

Picture 003

Yes that is what I am blogging from right now. I am so excited. It’s TINY…about half the size of my former HP tower. The card reader doesn’t like my xD card, though. Neither does the other card reader for some reason. Ah well at least it likes my camera.

I am in the process of setting my preferences and making everything pretty again. *sigh* I love the smell of a new PC in the evening.

You can nominate a mom for a Good Mom Reward. You can also give Gifts For Moms Award. There are levels for nomination, but you can always nominate the mom you think deserves an award for free. Each nominated mom is emailed about the award and mailed an any gifts you may have opted for with the nomination. The nomination is also announced on the website for all to see.

I just nominated my own mother, and am in the process of nominating my friend who is a good mother. This is a great opportunity to show your mom that all her hard work raising you paid off. Mom’s are the most over worked, under paid people on the face of the planet. It’s always good to give something back, even if it’s just a compliment.

I can’t wait to hear my mom’s reaction when she gets this notification in her email. I did the free one. I always show her what an awesome mother she was/is. She has been going through it with all the family and their health issues, her own issues, and she is always strong for us…even when my grandmother passed over. I definitely relish any opportunity I get to tell her about her value in my eyes.

So here’s to you mom. I always tell you that if you pass over I will be lost in a deep dark sea, and you know I mean it!

I finally got everything done here. I ended up having to hand paste the last posts that were on the other server *everything posted after unconscious mutterings*… let the games begin. Next up: tech blog but not till tomorrow. UGH I feel like crap. I have been up since 8 trying to get this crap done. You see what time it is now. SO I lost a few comments in the process.. I hate that the most.

I am going to bed now. Love and smooches.

The question was asked:
What do I think of this form of reality tv?

Some of them are boring, others are not. Of course, I would rather see the true life behind the scenes than things that are creatively edited. I like the honesty of it all. I would rather see them staring at a computer screen with a look of disdain on their faces, than to have them amp up the drama in the office just because people are watching. We, in this world, are too far from realism. We thrive on the drama of the scenes instead of wanting to know the truth.

My favorite episode thus far is the Reverse Postie Patrol which you can see here:

I like that real people got to see the office, the workers, and the owner in person. It makes the work we do more tangible that way. I rather enjoy watching things in real time sometimes. Maybe not the grass as it grows, but life as it goes.

I appreciate that Ted and the crew are willing and ready to show us what’’s really going on. Not many companies would be that transparent with their employees. Ted is a genius in his genre. I hope that they continue to make better episodes and a better business overall.

What a neat service. FlipTrack allows users to make music videos without having a video camera. You can use your own pictures set to their music to make an extraordinary creation. The program is free. One quick download and you are ready to roll. After you make your video, you can then embed it into your blog, website, or social networking page. You can even email them to friends. Just take a look at the creative videos people have made.

The only down side that I can see is that you have to use their music. You are unable to use your own. That might not be that big a deal since they have an expansive list of music at your disposal. Enjoy!

Isn’t this always the way? You get a new something to replace an old something that maybe you thought was lost or broken, only to find the old something still works or just reappears all of a sudden. That is what happened with my zip drives. I just got the new one in the mail this morning and not ten minutes later I finally found the problem with my old zip drive and now I have two that work. JOY. So I guess, instead of selling it to someone I will keep it as a back up just in case something else happens. Being without my pictures nearly killed me *GAH*

Thanks, Lord, for the abundance of working zip drives.
