It won’t be long now till we get our tax refund and take our vacation. It won’t be too much more time before I yank out our faux Samsonite luggage and pack it for a fun filled 2 week trip in April. If we travel from Philly it will turn out a bit cheaper with less of a layover than we had last year. I can hardly wait. I think my husband and I will be celebrating our birthdays in Puerto Rico. They are only a week away from each other to start with. My son can’t wait, either. This should be another awesome trip.

Colleen is going on a trip. To where? Well that is what we want you to find out. Today I have the honor of hosting clue #10 about the trip that Colleen is taking. She is not only a worldclass blogger, but a world traveler as well.
Little known fact about Collen: She has great taste in graphic design. See this snazzy little icon on the left? One of her good friends made that for her … this friend does some pretty good work (if I do say so myself) and Colleen chose that icon to be the main one that she uses for her contest. See how awesome Colleen is ?
Can you guess who the friend is *hint hint*?
Review the clues, email your guess to her and see if you win. There are some really cool prizes on the line:
- 1st Prize - a $50 Travelocity Gift Card, and a souvenir from my trip!
- 2nd Prize - a $25 Travelocity Gift Card, and a souvenir from my trip!
- 3rd, 4th, and 5th Prize - a souvenir from my trip!
So without further ado, I give you
Clue #10: “The city planners included lots of waterways through the city Colleen is visiting. Travel on a water taxi is very common!”

I am tired of being here alone with the kid and the dog. I have another 6 days to contemplate my existence. I fathom that I would like to snatch my husband up when he gets back and take him on one of those discount caribbean cruises so I can have him all to myself. His job wouldn’t be able to reach him, no responsibility would be at our door. Alone in the middle of nowhere with the man that my soul loves… yeah I can dig that.

Another place I never really considered a vacation…New York. I was just asking my hubby which cities he would like to stay in, since he used to live in New York. He has been pretty much everywhere, but I would like to see a friendlier side. I guess we would have to book hotels in the outer parts of the cities. Manhattan is totally out, but I bet I could find some other 3 star hotels that aren’t that far from the city.
Hubby says that Manhattan is way too expensive, the Bronx is where he used to live so that’s a no go.
New York hotels are really nice inside. I wonder if he would consider just a vacation within the walls of a pretty hotel. Who knows. Maybe I can still find a place for us to stay that I can see the museums that I yearn to peruse.

With gorgeous views like this one:
are almost enough to make one look at Arizona real estate! Oh it’s beautiful. I have dreamed of seeing the canyons and valleys of Arizona. It beckons to me. I really want to see all the beauty of God’s creation and this is just ONE picture of it. There are so many natural formations that should be preserved so we can keep on enjoying their beauty for the ages to come.

Hubby picked up some papers from our warehouse store. They have some good deals. I am about to look them up online. This time, I don’t know if we will use a trip planner or not. I thought it was pretty cool to do a travel blog while we are gone, too. Last time, all I did was text message my updates to my other blog. This time, I could use that blog system to make updates with maps and links to the places we visit. They make it easy to do, so I wouldn’t be trying to google everything.
They also have a place for you to do comparison shopping for your trip. I like to get all my info in one spot. Searching all over creation for prices can be done, but who has that kind of time? LOL I found a pretty neat blog about Puerto Rico while looking around the travel blog site. I know we want to go back there next year, but we also want to take another vacation as a family. This is going to be fun to plan!

Well soon, anyway. I am going to be packing up my mock Samsonite luggage and heading to North Jersey for a few days. Not till the end of October…at least that’s what I hope is going to happen. I am making tentative plans about it since it’s still all up in the air right now. Next month is our anniversary… Six whole years of matrimonialism. I can’t call it all bliss… marriage is NOT bliss. It can be blissful at times. It can also be excruciating. That’s the nature of meshing two totally different people together into one life, sharing everything, raising a family, and getting through life as one. No one ever said it was all cherries and cream. BUT if at the end of the day, you can still look upon your spouse with affection, you are doing pretty danged well. I look at him with affection every single day. SOOO yes we are going out for anniversary regardless of whether it’s to North Jersey to party or not.
