Getting ready for Women in Ministry Retreat!

OH BOY! I have a lot of thinking to do today just to be able to pack this little bag for 3 days and 12 hours of driving. We are heading up to Syracuse for the Pastor’s wives and Women in Ministry retreat. The conference center is gorgeous! I am anticipating that there will be a great time of love and breakthrough for all who attend. I am rooming with 3 women from our new church. I have to load up my mp3 player with all the stuff I want to hear while I am on the way and when I try to go to sleep. I am taking my favorite blanket and pillow for sleep on the way. I am conflicted about the actual clothing, but I know it’s going to be freezing up there, so I have to wear warm shoes.

They have free wifi all over, so this little beauty is coming with me so I can keep updating and also working. My work week kind of never ends. Wish I had the traveler’s guitar so I could practice at night before I go to bed, but alas, I don’t have one! Praying that my fingers stay read and capable for Sunday morning so I can play with the worship team again.

EXCITED! now off to get the rest of the laundry so I can start figuring out my clothes :P

PS Thanks to the person who decided to sponsor my trip. You are awesome and God is going to abundantly bless you!

Building a birthday

My husband is so awesomely great! He decided to get our son what he really wanted: a tv stand. I priced them all over the place and found one that was only 30 dollars (6 dollars to us since we have a gift card). Instead, we went to the local big hardware shop and were blessed to find all the pieces to make the entertainment center for a mere 5 dollars! *with the screws it comes up to about fifteen dollars, but the screws will go further than just this project*. SO Excited about that <3 I am really glad that we were able to find that and a shoe organizer for ten dollars less than it would have cost us to just buy a ready made center…and it’s built with an extra ingredient:

a father’s love!

We are planning to go to the Dr. Seuss reading in our area on Saturday morning. That night we have concert, but I am sure that he will get a lot of out of that. He likes to rap with us. So onward we go building our son’s 8th birthday to be one he won’t forget :D

Get your 15% off for being my friend

I am extending to all my blog readers a special offer from Handbag Heaven. On my sidebar you will see a new little banner ad that you can click and receive 15% off your next purchase. They have a load of gorgeous bags that I just DROOL over. I enter their contests every time they have them, although I have yet to win. I love this company! They make me smile. One day I hope to win something, and even if I don’t I will be glad to one day become a regular customer instead of just a window watcher.

buy buy buy

I still need to buy us an external hard drive. There are some cheap ones on Sale right now, but I really want to research first. The other thing on my husband’s mind is to get another computer all together in addition to the one we already own. I think that both are great investments. We need to set up our studio computer so we can get our beats done on our own and produce our cds.

Searching for smaller furniture

I am looking for some smaller furniture to fit into our new, smaller apartment. It’s definitely not a space where you could add in some home theater chairs and call it a day. It is going to take TIME… I only have 2 weeks! Well, at least I know we can put the big couch in storage till we decide what to do for the smaller apartment. We are just waiting for the finalization of the lease and certificates so we can sign and be done with it. As far as everything goes right now, we are moving in on March 1st. Praise the Lord!

The Obama Coin

I was talking to my mom about the great deals I found on Black Friday, and remarking about the people who still don’t have presents after that excursion. I was thinking about getting my dad some pajama pants or the ever popular standby of assorted silk ties. That’s when she clued me in to what my dad REALLY wanted for Christmas: The Obama Coin. Apparently, Franklin Mint is the only one who has the coin AND the stamps, so I got that for him. I hope he is happy when he gets it. I think I ordered it in plenty of time to get it for Christmas.

Black Friday bargains

Teehee the joys of living in a small town include that the longest line you are in is about 25 people long and the longest wait you have is for the store to actually open.

We were able to get ourselves a slew of things, as well as most of our Christmas purchases. God blessed us to be able to give within our means. I FINALLY got Garden State on official DVD, as well as some Madea/Tyler Perry joints. We were able to FINALLY get the little table set we wanted for when people come over. I couldn’t be happier. I won’t itemize EVERYTHING we got, since there are so many presents for other people. Just know we made out really well, saved a heap of dough, and we are extremely tired happy now.
