I am glad that my son is finally finding out the value of puzzles. I hate finding pieces of jigsaw puzzle all over the house. We have at least 4 puzzles that will never be complete again. I took to putting them in labeled plastic bags, hoping that it would help him to keep them organized. It’s finally paying off! His book of puzzles is still intact. His borrowed Diego puzzle is also intact. I am so proud of him. He is finally gaining a sense of responsibility and care for his items and those owned by others.

I just got a Care Bears singing alarm clock in the mail. We won’t be giving it to my son until Christmas BUT I had to test it out to see how it worked. I love it! The song has already been personalized with his name in it. He is going to have such a fit when he gets it. First, he is obsessed with Care Bears. Second, he will feel like a grown up with his own wake up alarm. Third, it has his name in it, so he he feels special every morning. The only issue I have with it is the color: hot pink. I wish it came in blue, too. I know it would make my husband less uneasy about it *smile*.
I got the clock from the same people that make these cute personalized childrens books. They have lots of really nice gifts that you can personalize. You have to go check out the preloaded names list. They have a huge directory full of names so it’s highly unlikely that your child’s name is not accounted for. I thought it was a good way to bolster his confidence anew every morning. The song is so upbeat that I wouldn’t even mind waking up to it every morning.

I just got this cute little trinket for the Kid for one of his Christmas presents:

Isn’t that cute? I got it as MVP for Most Valuable Player. He is in my life, anyway. He will start football next year, so there is a football on it. It’s in his favorite color: blue. It also bears his name on it, but for security reasons I have blocked that part out. It is in the same typeset and color as the other text. Very very nice. It is still in the plastic package it came in. I really like it a lot. I know that he will, too. It will allow him to have something like the dog tags his father got at the Airshow. I am very happy with what the company did with this. There are more elaborate dog tags than this, with colors and emblems and all kinds of things. If he sticks with football, then I will probably buy him an upgrade. They aren’t expensive, and they come quickly in the mail. I am so happy with this. It’s going in his small stocking on the Christmas tree this year.

My husband doesn’t like our vacuum. He has been looking at compact models like the Miele vacuum. I wish there was a model specifically for pet hair. We have so much in our carpet…it’s good that the dog and carpet are the same color. If not, I can just imagine how much I would be sitting on the floor picking up every hair by hand. I can’t seem to figure a way to get most of it out of the fibers.

This is getting out of hand. It is starting to make me think that they are doing it on purpose. I can’t understand how so many toxic toys are making to our shores. I can’t be the only one suspicious of what’s been going on. I mean, seriously, how many times does it need to happen before we
A: get a clue
B: stop buying their toys
C: bring business back to the American workers
?
I am sick and tired of hearing the same old story every other week, it seems. How many children will have to die before they realize that the toxicity is affecting and should be stopped? Recalls are what they are, but we are all losing in the end.

that is sung to the tune of “I Enjoy Being A Girl”. UGH and UGH. I feel like I have been dragged by my ankles through the rain down a trash filled alley. I wish I could retire for the day but I cannot. Now I have to cook dinner! *grumble grumble* AND WHY does my son, who has been mostly good acting all day, decide to wait till his father gets here to NOT listen to me? OMG It’s like he is trying to show me as a weak mother. I hate this *pout*

We retrieved my child from his grandparents’ last night…more like extracted. He didn’t want to come back. He was having too much fun. I don’t really blame him. Who doesn’t want to spend oodles of time at a campsite running around getting as dirty as possible when they are a 4 year old, and a boy no less? I remember doing the same at my own grandmother’s house as a child. Running through her field like side yard, tramping through the forest, climbing trees… A great and beauteous time in my life were all the years I spent with her. I wouldn’t dare take those opportunities from my son… unless these excursions become excessive to the point where he barely stays home.

I am still waiting for my kid to show up from his camping trip. I have called my in laws twice already, and have yet to get an answer as to when they are planning to be back. I already mostly cleaned the house, so it’s not that big a deal. I just like to know when the silence here is going to be broken. I like to be prepared, ya know?
