Wish I might

I am so tired of having a laptop staring me in my face but being fully useless! I bought the darn thing for 400$ on discount and now I have to pay half that to get it fixed. Can you say:

NOT HAPPENING!

So I am wishing on a star for the laptop of my dreams. The Lenovo Thinkpad R61e comes pretty danged close. It’s not that expensive AND has free shipping. If only I had the revenue that I had this time last year, I would have bought it without a second thought. *screams @ googoo*

Instead I am left to ponder what could have been. I hate this. :( *pout*

Score! Shopping the bargains

Today I was feening for Pepsi. Now, I haven’t had Pepsi in my house for over a week, so you KNOW I had to find some on sale. Lo and behold, I found some that JUST went on sale today for 2.99/12 pack!!! So I hurriedly got myself together and zoomed over to the store, where I happily found orange juice on manager’s special 2 days sale for 1/2 gallon: $1.77 !!! SHAWEET. Then, at the counter they only had ONE slice of my favorite chocolate chip cake left .. YOINK! I got the Man a slice of the banana bread cuz he loves it that much. :D YAY ME!!!

Never buy retail

At least I try not to do that… I am a big fan of generics. Right now I am on some generic allergy pills that work great, as long as I only take one. If I take 2, I end up in a near coma from overdose. That is the only problem I have with generics…some of them give you generic instructions like *take one OR two every 4 to 6 hours*. Eh, what can I say? They were about a dollar or more cheaper than the name brand with the actual instructions on the back. I wish they had a generic drug that was just like the real one for everything from generic Phentermine to blood pressure pills. My husband takes bp pills that cost 40 dollars each under our insurance. There is NO generic readily available for them, so we pay the full cost of the copay. Thankfully, they are covered or we would be paying about $120 per prescribed bottle. Freaky, right? So I say THANK YOU GOD for generics. They rock.

Thanks to The PR Store!

PatchesThank you to www.thepuertoricanstore.com for promptly shipping out the patches I ordered for my husband. I was rather pleased that the description was right on point and that they were so cheap. They are by far the best buy for patches that I could find online. My husband was surprised. I am really glad that they are iron on so I don’t have to go finding some way of attaching them myself. Now he just has to get his fight shorts so I can fix them up.

Carebear’s clock repair

alarmclockMy son’s carebear clock had stopped working a while back, so I wrote to the company and asked them if they could send a replacement. They asked me to change the batteries and test it first, then if it didn’t work send it over and they would replace it.

Well, lo and behold, it was the TYPE of batteries I was using, not the unit itself. They were nice enough to include the replacement batteries with the unit so that I would know what works with it and have some to work with till I get to the store. Thanks a lot!!! You guys totally rock?

Bread Day Revelations

At bread day today, I got to chat with a lady that lives on the opposite side of my apartment complex. She was telling me about how she can never find a sale on orange juice that suits her anymore. I totally agree. I mean, 2.50$ for a half gallon of OJ is a bit much. We were both talking about how thankful we are for the bread giveaway. We save a lot of money going there. I have to ask a special blessing on those people. They work hard to put that and more together every week.

Shopping shouldnt take so long

A simple run to the dollar store became a bit more complicated once I found out that they had NO chalk in the entire width and breadth of the store. I did pick up books for the Boy to jump start us into our easy summer program of learning. So I had to run ourselves from the relatively close dollar store all.the.way down to the Mart of Wal.

Their little pack of sidewalk chalk is totally overpriced. I can see $1.50, but not nearly $3. Their manuscript writing pads were ridiculous, too. They have some they call “2-3 grade” paper which has thinner lines than the 1st grade paper…and it costs a full dollar more. WHAT???

I guess I nearly wet myself when I saw the prices, cuz all of a sudden I had to use the facilities. Ergh. I ended up getting 2 packets of regular sized chalk (2 packs of 12 are now 72 cents each color or white) and deciding to just make copies of his manuscript paper at the library. It costs me less to make a full book of pages than it does to buy them already made.

At least Pe-psi was on sale *smh*.

Date day for ME

I took myself on a little excursion today, dating myself. I got myself all dressed up, bought myself a mocha frapp, then went and got Bread because today is Bread Day! After that, I put myself through the torture that is the post office on Saturday. On the way back, I stopped and got myself a lunch special from the Chinese food store and utilized the wait time to buy some juice from next door. Now I am home, ready to enjoy my relaxing few hours before the Man returns and I have to go into wife mode again. YAY for treating yourself!
