New stuff aka my husband is awesome

He got me a lovely jacket and boots last night. He was nice enough to realize that I needed a black pair of boots and a jacket that would fit during and after pregnancy. We chose a lovely 4 in 1 jacket and some lovely white mountain black suede boots which are ADORABLE. I love me some him!

Books and more books

Trying to keep up with my son on his homeschooling can be daunting sometimes. I am constantly cycling books through his fingers, trying to see if I can get him interested in more subjects that broaden his worldview. Sometimes I even have to pull out the library step stools to get to the books that most people wouldn’t even bother to look up and find. You never know what gems lie there. He is very receptive to reading new things, so it’s a great way to get him to go off on adventurous tangents where we delve so far into a subject that we exhaust our consciousness. That’s part of why I love to homeschool/unschool. We can do that without remorse or feeling as though we have missed something.

My son will have a fab Christmas

God has been truly blessing us this Christmas. The economy still stinks so the sales have been good. Sad, but true. I got him the brand new Diary of A Wimpy Kid at no cost to me, the Ninjago game for 1/3 price, buy 2 get 1 free games for him and one for the family *we always get one family game every year*, a hamtaro for a dollar *will go well with his other hamtaro*, a window sticker painting kit for 2 bucks, and star wars trading cards for 50 c a pack. He picked out a lego game for himself at the store that ended up being less than half priced *only 7.49*, but we wrapped it up for Christmas anyway. So yes, he will have a wonderful Christmas, not to mention the fact that we ALWAYS watch the nativity in some form and make sure that we all are reminded of the reason why we have this day. We just like to pay homage to the person who this day is dedicated to: Jesus Christ. Even tho many realize that this is not the same date He was born, the fact that He was born is what really matters here!

Special kinds of people

There are many jobs in this world, but there are also many “special kinds of people” out there to work them. For instance, I love to watch Animal Cops and things like that. I could NEVER do Veterinary Assistant Jobs! Those poor creatures come in there and they are so helpless! Some cases make you lose your lunch :( The same with those in pretty much any medical profession dealing with cases similar on the human scale.

Another job is working with children under the age of 11. I am not the one to be doing that on a regular basis. Once in a while won’t kill me, but on a day to day? Not me! I have people in the family like my sister in law who are PHENOMENAL at that. I applaud her. She is one of those “Special kind of people”.

Generous people

So far from our church, I have received a huge amount of baby clothes, some baby toys, 2 baby bouncers, a bassinet, crib rails, the promise of a crib to go with those rails, and 4 bags of new or like new maternity clothes. I haven’t even gotten to the baby shower yet LOL :D Thanks to generous people!

While cooking I’m thinking

We still have worship on Sunday :D I have to get my guitar songs in the email so I can practice. Being as it is a holiday, I don’t expect the list today. I hope that our worship leader is having a great holiday with her family. She works hard and deserves time off!

Thanksgiving is upon us

So here I sit at 2 in the morning finishing the plan for our small thanksgiving meal. Yes, small and yes we waited til today to get our fixins together. LOL! I never wait this long, but we didn’t get to have a normal Tday last year and this year we aren’t traveling.

So what is on the menu?

Turkey Breast (of course) with my special brine
Stuffing (homemade by someone else)
Mashed Potatoes (homemade by me and dairy free)
Gravy (mine and Campbells)
Mac n Cheese (mine based on a recipe from somewhere else)
Cornbread
Green beans (or broccoli, dunno yet)
Macaroni Salad (also homemade but no by me)

Dessert:

Banana Nilla Wafter Pudding
Sweet Potato Pie (store bought, yes i know it’s not as good as homemade :P )
Pumpkin Bread or cupcakes
Cool whip!

Gonna be good for sure. Starting up in 6 hours. Got all my recipes in order and just waiting to pass out so I can rest up for the morning. Looking forward to watching the parade on TV with my babies (husband, son, and inside agent LOL).

Have a blessed thanksgiving everyone!
